Chap 10

The rest of the week flew by. Tristan and Seth sat either side of me in every subject and often felt the need to, make me scream or jump or even both, by squeezing my thigh. It was mostly Tristan; Seth did it an odd time or two but stopped soon after the death glares Tristan would give him. If looks could kill, poor Seth would be six feet under by now!

Tristan wanted to take me out some more but I refused and invited him to my house on Friday night for a movie. With Friday fast approaching I knew that I would have to tell the family. This should be fun. 

“ Mmm… Can I tell you guys something?” I asked both Zack and Mom at the table. I was unsure as to how they would take the news. Tristan was my first proper boyfriend since Josh. Sure I got offers from guys like Robert and Stephen but I couldn’t connect with any of them.

Josh and I went out for years! (I’d say about two, three years tops.) I loved him more than anything. I really thought that he was the one! My mother had the wedding planned out! A white wedding on a yacht heading forHawaii! Josh was, well, rich!

Then he hooked up with my “FRIEND” Rebecca and moved to Demark never to be seen again. I cried for a week straight after I found out last summer and stayed locked in my room for at least two more weeks.

“Sure Sweetie.” Mom said as she got up from the table and placed her empty dish into the sink. “Murferhemeruim” was the oh so polite response I got off Zach, who was stuffing his face with the left over pizza crust. “I’m seeing this guy” I looked over at Mom who had almost dropped her glass of water. “ And he’s coming over tomorrow.” I concluded. This got Zach railed up. “ Murper flufitjeh wammyseth!!!” he mumbled angrily at me. “Huh?” Mom and I said in unison. “You’re an ugly pig who can’t dance? Good to know!” Zach leaped over the table in an attempt to strangle me. “Too slow bro!” I sniggered as he began to choke on his beloved pizza. “Zach, out.” Mom said staring at me in shock. “NOW!” she raised her voice at Zach who hadn’t budged. Zach and I both jumped. Mom never raised her voice. Zach lowered his head in defeat and if he had a tail it would be tucked in-between his legs! I put my hand over my mouth to try to hide the smile that was appearing on my lips! “So” Mom said once Zach was out of earshot. “Tell me everything!” 

After explaining everything, well almost everything (being a vampire was tended to be frowned upon), I sighed and onto the couch with a stupid grin spread across my face. I noticed Mom hadn’t said anything after I explained everything about Tristan.

“Oh my God!” she let out a breathless gasp. “My little girl’s in love!” I was shocked!!! How did she know this?!? “What? I am not!” I huffed. “Tristan” My Mother said just that one little word and the annoyingly stupid grin spread across my face again! Why won’t it leave me alone?!? “There it is” she said softly. “Just please don’t let him take advantage of you.” I gasped at the thought. “Tristan wouldn’t did that!” I raised my voice a little but regretted the words as soon as they left my mouth. “I know but he’s older than you Brook. All is well with love until he wants more. You’re only 15 and Tristan’s what? 16, 17?” Well he’s 562 but I kept it in my head and nodded. “Just take thing’s slow? For me?” “I promise.” I sighed. “So is it cool if he comes around tomorrow?” “Only if he’s hot!” “MOTHER!!!” I was shocked! Like what the hell? “What i'm just looking out for you!” she chuckled. “Is it safe to come in?” Zach shouted from upstairs. “I’m coming in anyway!” he yelled and came in with his hands over his ears. “Baby” I muttered. “Can still reads lips!” he yelled at me. “I think it affects his brain” I told Mom. “So is all cool?” “I’m sorry what? Why did you jump in the pool? You’re still dry! Wait we don’t have a pool! Do we?” Brothers can’t live with them, can’t eat with them. “WOW” I said while prying Zach’s hands away from his ears as I passed by him. 

He started to complain but the doorbell rang and Zach shot out passed me to answer the it. He opened it to find Anna standing outside. “Anna!” I squealed and ran to hug her. “S’up?” she said in her funny Irish accent. “I mean how’s it going?” Anna moved here fromIrelandtwo years ago and has been dating my brother ever since. Her shoulder length brown hair was tied up in a bun and her pale face and blue eyes were make-up free. “Shopping?” I asked her eyeing up her new outfit. “Yup! You inspired it!” Anna laughed. “Aw!” Zach complained “but I liked your skirts and dresses!” “Well now she’s wearing sweats and purple tops!” I laughed at his pained expression. “LOLATUDE!” both myself and Anna laughed. “Huh?” The confused look on Zach’s face was priceless! “Come on! Lets go!” I had to drag Anna away from Zach as she was taking pictures of his confused face. We went into my room and I handed her the clothes which she left here last time. “I don’t know how you can do it!” she said to me as she took of my sweats and top and pulled on a pretty summer dress with many different coloured flowers on it. “Lets put him out of his misery!” I laughed.

I walked down stairs after Anna and walked straight into her back. “What’s wrong?” I asked as I craned my neck to look over her shoulder. I gasped at the man standing in the middle of the room. Mom, Zach and Anna all stared at him but his eyes connected with mine only. “Hi Brook.” He said in a slightly husky voice.

 “Hi” I said looking straight in the face of my Dad. 

“DADDY!!!” I squealed taking everyone by shock of the girly move. I ran towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him hard. “I’ve missed you so much Tiger!” he whispered in my ear. I smiled at the old nickname. “You to Bubbles!” I laughed as he pulled back to show the disgust on his face. “I’ve been hoping, praying and wishing that you’d have forgotten that!” I laughed again. “Not a chance Bubbles!”

After everyone had explained what went on while Dad was abroad, Zack and Anna left for their date. “Gosh they’re still together?!?” Dad said after Zach had giving him a hug and left. “Dad you’ve been gone a year and yes they’re still madly in love!” I told him. “Yeah but the most drama has happened in the last hour or so!” Mom said staring at me, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Do tell!” “Dad it’s not important!” I gasped out trying to hold back the smile that when, thinking of Tristan, came out. 

“So how long are you staying for Dad?” I asked him feeling very nervous. “I’m sorry Brook.” He sighed and started to look at the ground. I didn’t have to worry about holding in the smile because my stomach twisted and turned and I felt sick. “I’m Sorry because your going to have to put up with your old man messing your life up!!!” he shouted and I screamed and jumped into his arms! Once I was safely on solid ground I asked him “REALLY?!? YOU Sure?” “Not really” he told me. “But I know that I’ll be based here for a few years at least with the odd trip!”

“Honey?” Mom said laughing at how happy I was. “Yup?” I turned to face her still grinning. “Tristan will be here in 20 minutes!” “Shit!” I muttered “I’m going for a shower. Don’t let Dad near him please!” I yelled over my shoulder while tackling the stairs two at a time. I reached my door in just enough time to hear Dad yell up at me “Who’s Tristan?” “Glad your back Dad!” I bellowed back at him.
