I checked once again that I had all my stuff packed for the flight. It was only for 2 days. It was now 5:00 and by flight was departing at 10:00. I always leave a couple hours earlier just to make sure I get in on time.
I giddily walk my way over to Nicks apartment, bags gripped in my bitter cold hands. I knock steadily, waiting, with every second in anticipation. He opens up, his attire looking implausibly snug, akin to mine.
"Morning! Are you ready to leave?" My voice, spoke in a raspy tone. I decided on breakfast at the airport when I got there.
"Yep," He releases the long breath he kept in his mouth after locking the heavy-wood door of his apartment.
As we took the lengthy journey down, I took a moment to think. In this exact moment, I am about to leave to go on a business trip, with a guy that I have known for a week. I barely know him, for all I know he could murder me right now. Should I be doing this, should I back out now?
"Hey, are you alright?" Nicks nurturing voice spoke out, his free hand gripping my shoulder gingerly. I couldn't back out now.
"Yeah, just a bit sleepy, you know from waking up early," I lie, resting my index finger on the edge of my head.
"I want you to know if you aren't comfortable with me coming with you, I'll just stay," Nick gave a reassuring smile.
"No, it's just that I don't know if I'm ready with you coming to things like this with me. I mean we only met like a week ago," I explain.
"Anastasia, I want you to know that you can trust me, even if we met a week ago,"
"But how?" I questioned. His eyes searched mine nonchalantly before attaching his silky, chapped lips to mine.
"By that," He says, whilst I catch my breathe for a couple of seconds, "Okay," was all I said before heading off to get to the uber that must be waiting for us. I glance behind my shoulder, catching sight of Nick, holding a finger to his lips and his eyes gazing at his feet.
"So are you going to come or just stay there?" I beam towards him. He nods before making his way. Once we find our uber, Nick insists on putting our luggage in the trunk, even though I would of gladly did it myself.
We told our destination to the driver and we sat in a comfortable silence, faint music from the radio, filling the air.
"I'm so tired," I mutter, following with a yawn.
"You can sleep in the meantime, I'll wake you up when we reach the airport," He offers.
"It's fine, I love watching the sunrise in the city anyway."
My eyes focus on every detail of the city as the mesmerising sun leisurely makes its way up to the sky, sending an eruption of colour throughout the city, reminding me of my hometown, Melbourne.
I was born in Melbourne but moved to America months after I was born, making my accent American. I often visited my parents, sister and her husband and kids there.
___I didn't realise I fell asleep until I felt someone shaking me gingerly and mumbling my name. I open my eyes abruptly, squinting to the now open sunlight. I turn my head to who was shaking me to find Nick.
"We're here now," His lips curl to one of his beautiful smiles. I pick myself up from the spot I sat in to grab my bag from the back.
After checking in all our bags and passing security, we had another hour left to do whatever we wanted and the first thing that came to mind for me, was food.
"I'm just going to get some food, you don't have to come if you don't want," I say.
"No, I would love to come!" He approves, we order our choice of food, I got with a sausage and egg McMuffin with a hash brown and some hot chocolate, as Nick goes for the same.
We sat down on a table for two with our orders.
"God! I am so hungry!" I groan with my mouth stuffed with my McMuffin. Nick nods in response.
___"Are you excited!" I shriek. Travelling around the world was by far one of my biggest passions which was one of the many reasons why I chose to become a fashion designer.
"Definitely! After all, I am going to be spending time with you, so why not," Nick smirked towards.
"Oh my god, your so cheesy," My face grew a bright ruby.
"I'm only speaking the truth dear," My stomach grew uneasy at the nickname he put for me. My eyes flew up to meet his as a small grin played my lips.
After getting on the plane and putting my bags up with a bit of help from Nick, I adjusted myself in my seat. Nick sat next to me, getting comfortable.
I lift my head from the window to meet his eyes. My hand reached for his, lacing them together. There was something that I had the urge to say but I couldn't put my finger on what it was.
"I- I'm so excited for this trip," I say, stopping myself from saying anything that I normally wouldn't.
___"Please fasten your seatbelt please and prepare yourself for landing," The honey-sweet voice of the flight attendant rang through my ears, waking me from my heavy sleep.
I faintly shake Nick awake.
"Hey, we're about to land," I calmly speak to him. He stirs around a bit before fully awakening himself and fastening his seatbelt. My eyes gaze around the sight of Berlin. It was night, creating the city to illuminate in lights.
I turn my sight to Nick with a small, closed-mouth smile against my lips.
"Its so beautiful," My voice whispered.
"I know dear, just like you," Was all he had to say to make my stomach knot in a splendid happiness and love.
