Chapter 2- Suffering

Garroth's POV

"Laurence, open up" I yell banging on his door. He hasn't come out of his room since Aphmau left. We would give him food and water under the door, but other than that, he hasn't left.

"NO" he replied.

"C'mon Laurence" Katelyn yelled pushing me aside. There was no reply. Katelyn, Dante, Nicole, and I all looked at each other.

"LAURENCE" I yelled one last time. Then we all started banging on the door.

Laurence's POV

They keep banging on the door.

"STOP IT" I yell at them, but They continue. Then they stop banging. Then Garroth said something he never should've said,

"Do you think Cadenza would want you to act like this". My heart dropped. There was a gasp. No one has mentioned Cadenza's name since her funeral. I stood up and walked to the door.

"Never mention Cadenza's name, under any negative circumstances" I said getting mad. They all walked on the room. Everyone stood around the room except Garroth. We were in the middle of a circle. The circle is missing someone. Aphmau.

"Fine. Do you think Aphmau would want you to act like this" he said making me more angry.

"Don't test me Garroth" I said threatening him.

"Why? Your not the only one that lost someone that day. OKAY. I LOST HER TOO. NOT ONLY DID I LOOSE CADENZA, I LOST PART OF ME" he said getting angry.

"She died, because you couldn't protect Aphmau. Because she felt the need to sacrifice herself to save Aphmau, to make you happy" he said blaming me. I went out of control. I started attacking him. And he fought back, while our friends tried getting us away from each other. We were fighting for at least 10 minutes before Katelyn broke us apart. When she broke us apart she smacked us both.

"You are both idiots. You feel like you feel the most pain, both of you. Well guess what, we all feel the same pain. A lot has happened. Loosing Cadenza. Aphmau is..... well she's just gone. Instead of thinking about yourselves, think about other people, and how they feel. Me, Dante, and Nicole have been biting our tongues to keep you two happy. Besides us, how do you think Hayden is taking is this. That was his daughter. Think about how Aaron is taking this. That was his only friend. That was your lover, your sister, and our friend" Katelyn said shaky. She had tears in her eyes that whole time. I've never seen Katelyn so emotional. This is tough.

"Katelyn we're-" I started but she cut me off.

"Save it. Laurence, Get out of this room. Garroth, talk. You have been quiet this for the past 2 months. I'm not them but, I know Cadenza and Aphamu would not want you two acting like this" she said to me and Garroth. Then we left my room. Quiet. As soon as we arrived at the park, Michi and her group came up to us. I had almost half a mind to tackle her again, but, I look down instead.

"Nya, so, how was you trip at the factory" she said. Everyone was silent. Then I look up.

"I didn't mention a factory, nobody ever mentioned a factory. Unless....." I said. Everyone realized what I said was true and it caught their attention. There was a long pause. Everyone was thinking. But I already knew what happened.

"You were part of it, weren't you" I asked. She grinned. Then she laughed. A laugh that, I can't get out of my head.

"Yes. And it's the same reason why I knew about her stupid mother" Gene brought up out of no where. I stood up but Garroth pushed me back down. I didn't want to look back at him because I know he wants to help me.

"Why" Garroth said.

"To make her life miserable. She's easy to pick on" Michi explained. I stood back up and Garroth tried to push me back down, but failed.

"What happened to you that you feel the need to bully someone. To make their day horrible. Never mind. THEIR LIFE.

Aphmau's POV

"Heh, you think you'll get adopted. Look at you. Covered in cuts and bruises. Who wants you" she said to me. Every time I go outside of the orphanage she there.

"You gonna say anything. No. Heh just like always" she said and then kicked me down. She walked away. I stood up and walked away I stood up and walked to a tree. I sat down and I just thought. Thought, will I ever really be adopted? Is what Travis said true? Am I meant to be happy? Am I even meant to be alive? All I ever am is disappointed or let down. I started crying. Harder and harder by the minute.

"Aph" Travis asked.
