'I'm so tired' I thought to myself. I didn't want to go to bed without zen, since he hasn't gotten home from work yet. I guess he had to stay late today...

I sat down on the couch and turned on a random channel so it wasn't completely dark and started to read my book. I must have fallen asleep because I was having a terrible dream. I reset zen...

I know it doesn't seem that scary, but that's a nightmare to me. I awoke after what seemed like centuries, to zen hugging me. he pulled away, still holding my shoulders "(y/n), I'm here. don't worry, I'm here," he said in a soft tone. I jumped back into his arms and started crying. I hugged him tightly. "babe, don't worry. it was just a dream. you're okay now. I'll protect you." I rested my head on his shoulder for a couple minutes and then he pulled away and picked me up like a baby. I turned my head to his chest, and rested my forehead against it. he set me down in his bed and covered me up. he laid down next to me and pulled me close so I was facing him. he rested his chin against the top of my head. his arm was under me so be began to rub my back in a calming way. all I could do was inhale his scent. he smelled like a mixture of his cologne, and a little bit of cigarette smoke. I loved it so much. "(y/n), I'll always be here no matter what. I'm sorry I had to work late. I love you so much babe, you have no idea." he whispered.

he kissed the top of my head as I choked out the words "I love you too zenny."

"goodnight babe. have good dreams now." he said quietly as I drifted off into sleep.
