Niall POV
Right now, I was Alex’s room waiting for her return, I was no longer drunk. My mind was running with thoughts of what her friend- Ellie, or at least that’s what I think her name was- wanted to tell Alex. I know I shouldn’t be nosy, but I was worried it had something to do with me.
We shared something. A kiss. A kiss, that she finally let me place on her soft lips. She was probably the first girl I have ever gotten nervous over or felt uneasy about- not because of her physical appearance or personality, she’s not perfect but that’s who I want- someone who isn’t perfect, because I’m not either. I was nervous and uneasy because I was scared of her rejection, now that she has done it before, I’m terrified that she might come in this room any second and do it all over again.
I was just casually thinking when I heard the bedroom door open, “Hey.” Alex’s friend greeted me, closing the door behind her.
“Hi,” I trailed off awkwardly. Why is she here? Where’s Alex?
“Oh right- my name’s Ellie,” she introduced herself, sitting down.
I smiled a small smile, “Niall.”
“I knew that,” she winked, before speaking again, “Look, I don’t know what is happening between Alex and you. But I-I, um…”
“I need to warn you about something,” she managed to get out.
“What’s wrong? Is Alex ok?” My thoughts went immediately to Alex.
“She’s fine.” Ellie grumbled, did I miss something here? Why does she seemed pissed off?
I sighed relieved, “where is she?”
“Outside,” she pointed towards the door, “but I need to tell you something so just listen.”
She seemed serious so I just nodded.
“I just want you to be careful when you’re around Alex ok? She’s working with-“she was cut off when Alex stormed into the room.
I looked over at Ellie and motioned her to continue, only to have her stop and stand up, “Please just be careful ok?”
“Um…Ok?” I replied before Ellie walked out of the bedroom, stopping, to glare at Alex.
Geez. It is really tense in here.
“Hey,” I breathed to Alex.
Instead of replying she just stood there, her eyes glued to the ground, her cheeks flushed.
Alex POV
I stormed into my bedroom, only to find Ellie and Niall sitting on the floor talking. Niall noticed me first before Ellie.
“Please just be careful ok?” she quickly told Niall before standing up.
Did she just tell him everything? Oh no, his going to hate me.
Ellie stopped in the middle of the doorway to glare at me, her eyes wide with anger and hurt before walking off into the hallway. I focused my eyes on the carpet beneath me. She must really hate me too.
“Hey,” Niall breathed, only to have me completely ignore him.
He doesn’t deserve to be treated like this; he deserves to be treated with respect and privacy. He needs someone else, someone else who is not me. Someone else who could give him everything and anything.
Why can’t he just leave me alone? Worst, why can’t I leave him alone? Am I starting to develop feelings for him? No, I hope not. I was surprised he hadn’t started yelling at me yet because what I did was pretty horrible- ok, is terrible.
