Part 23

Alex POV

Slowly I sat up, observing my surroundings – I was in my bed.

What the hell happened?

There was a light knock and my eyes immediately darted towards the door.

“Hey,” Ellie smiled, “can I come in?”

“Uh- sure- come in,” I rubbed my head to relieve the headache I was having, “What happened?”

“You were mobbed and you fainted.” She sighed. “You would’ve been stepped on if George didn’t come in time.”

 I smiled, “How long was I out for?”

“A day and a half,” she shrugged.

That’s when realization hit me, I missed the double date.

“Shit!” I jumped out of bed to find my phone, “I missed the date with Niall!”

But before I could go anywhere, Ellie grasp my wrist to pull me back, “Relax Alex, I told him why you couldn’t go.”

I immediately relaxed, “Thanks Ellie, but I still need to give him a call.”

She quickly nodded, “It’s all just an act right?

Was it?

“Uh- yeah- um – totally.” I stuttered.

 She gave me a ‘are you sure’ look, before reaching into her pocket to take out my phone. “Here.”

“Wait, why do you have my phone?” I gave her a confused look.

“Your phone wouldn’t stop going off… so… I took it.” She grinned before standing up and leaving the room.

I smiled back as I went through my contacts until I found Niall’s.

The phone rang about 2 times until he picked up.

“Hello? Alex?” He sounded concerned through the phone.

“Hey Niall,” I smiled – even though he couldn’t see it.

“Fuck, I am so sorry Alex. I am-”

“Niall it’s fine.”

“No it’s not, I hate paps so much for this.”

Well then you’re definitely going to hate me.

Gulping, I started to speak, “I-I’m sorry I couldn’t come to the double date.”

“Oh god- I didn’t mean I hate yo- no, no, I said it wrong.”

“Niall it’s fine.”

“Oh right, about the double date. Don’t worry about it. As long as you’re ok.” He sighed into the phone, “are you okay now?”

“Yeah, I’m ok.” I lied.

To be honest, this headache was killing me.

“Are you busy now?” He spoke softly.

“Now? No.” I laughed, “I just woke up.”

“Well are you hungry?” He questioned, I could her shuffling in the background.

“No.” I lied again.

“That’s a lie, we both know that.” I could feel him roll his eyes, “get ready, I’ll take you somewhere to eat.”

“No Ni-”

“Alex.” He groaned, “I just went to spend time with you, I missed you.”

“It’s only been a day and a half,” I giggled through the phone.
