Alex POV

I felt as if I was going around in circles.

Every turn I took, it looked exactly the same – so where was the way out?

I ran a hand through my hair – frustrated as I began to think.

It really sucks, how I am, really, forgetful.

“Alex!” I heard my name being called.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

I don’t know why, but I began to run.

I had no idea where I was going but all I knew – was that – I was running.

“Alex! Stop!” A male’s voice sounded from behind me. “Alex!”

I don’t think I have ever, ran, this fast, in my whole, entire life.

“Alex! Slow down!” The male’s voice was getting closer and closer.

“No! Please! Don’t hurt m – ” I was tackled onto the floor.

I began kicking, punching and doing everything – I could – to hurt the person – who was – on top of me.

“Get off of me!” I yelled.

I don’t want to go through this again.

“Please!” I tried my best to move.

“Alex! Calm down! It’s me! It’s me!” The person’s voice wore a thick Irish accent, “It’s me, Niall!”

Almost immediately, I stopped – and Niall quickly rushed off of me – afraid, that his tackle may have hurt.

“Are you okay?” His voice was soft.

“I’m fi –” I was interrupted by the lump in my throat.

I tried my hardest – to swallow it – before continuing, “fine.”

“You don’t seem it.”

“I told you, I’m fi – ” I was suddenly interrupted by two big arms, being wrapped, around me.

“Don’t do that ever again – don’t run away from me – don’t run away from us.” He’s voice was laced with concern as his chin rested on my shoulder – which caused me, to have the serious case of the tingles.

“I’m not running away from you.”

“But you are – from us.” He debated – which caused me, to stay silent, as he continued, “Why’d you do it?”

He was asking about the newspaper.

“I don’t know.” I answered truthfully.

“Think about it, Alex.” He was implying something.

I pulled away so I could get a better look at him.

What was he indicating?

“C’mon Alex.” He encouraged as he stood up and placed out a hand.

“I honestly, don’t know.” I gripped his hand before standing up – stumbling slightly – as he quickly balanced me.

“See? You shouldn’t have done it. You should’ve at least discussed it with me.” He whispered – his voice half raspy and half soft.

“You would’ve said no and we would’ve never gotten the artic – ”

“I don’t care about the stupid article – I care about you for god sake. I care about you, Alex.” He was shouting, “I couldn’t care – less – if the article got published and ruined my career… As long as I had you, by my side, then I couldn’t care about anything else – but you.”
