Beginning Of The End

A DAY IN HELL(JOURNAL ENTRY 4)

Next day, we decided that only Natasha, Dixon and I would go to the city while Stacy and Frank would try to contact UW for the latest news and left at first light with all the necessary items. Max had one of those awesome 4x4 which we took to city.

Well reaching the city wasn't much of a problem, entering it was. The city was full of cars and the infected so we dropped our 4x4 just outside the city. Then we went in on foot.

Max knew the city well. The place was huge. The scenery of the beach was beautiful. But On our way to the stores, we saw some real nasty stuff!! One cant even imagine how bad it was. Some of the infected were missing there limbs, and the others had there stomach inside out. Some of them even had the skin of the head off into slices so there brains were visible. It was like the worst of the worst nightmare.

After raiding the food store, we went to the ammunition store only to find other people there who were also going to raid the place and take everything for themselves.

We tried to convince them that it was better to stay together and that the guys should bring their group over to ours as it wasn't safe in the city but they wouldn't listen. Then we tried to negotiate with them for the ammunition but they weren't ready.

Instead they started a gun fight and injured Natasha and took all the ammunition. Luckily, we had Dixon and a health kit with us. But after the incident we all were shocked to see what had happened. Even though the chemical hadn't turn all the population but had it destroyed all the humanity?

Anyways, this wasn't as big of a problem as what we had coming was.
This helped us learn that the infected were attracted to sound! Within minutes after the shoot out, the street was over crowded with the infected and we were stuck in the store.

With the walkie talkie we had with us, we informed the others about what had happened and that we were stuck in here for an uncertain amount of time.

While we were stuck in the place, Frank got news that UW wants a sample of the blood of the infected so to try and break down chemical down n get a cure. And that weekly air drops would be made by there drones consisting of health kits n food all over the world.

Took 6 hours for everything to clear up.

Now, we had two problems at hand. First that we had to get the ammunition back n second that we had to send a sample of the contaminated blood

We were traumatized with what had happened so we went back n told the people that we would get the ammo tomorrow.

Next day, we left to do the left over job. It was a big city, full of tall buildings. It took us sometime to locate the people but as i said, Max new the city well. So he new about the cities safe hideouts.

It was a short building in an alley in one of the corners of the city.

It had to be theirs because it was the only one which had people.

So we gave them a warning to give us the weapons back n were going to start a gun fight but their leader came out to negotiate.

He said that he was sorry for what his boys had done n told us about his situation.

He told us that when the outbreak happened the city started evacuating n all the old people, the unwell, some others and he were left behind. So he and the others were just trying to help these people.

That is why they couldn't come with us.

I was stunned to hear this n said that they could keep the ammo but the guy insisted that we take some ammo with us as we were also stuck like em n so we did.

Now I knew that humanity hadnt been destroyed n was alive.

After this, we went to a chemist shop to get all the stuff requires to get the sample of the blood.

Luckily the shop had everything we needed n even an infected so we got the sample of the blood very easily.

We told frank with the walkie talkie to tell UW that we had the sample of the blood and were sending it through the machine they used to exchange various samples of chemicals with earth which was there at the shop.

After doing this we went back to the camp where all the people told us we had proven ourselves n were worthy enough to be given a second chance.
