"Right, you lot!" Mr Henderson shouted trying to get our class to settle down, "I know you'd rather tell each other how you're summer went, but I need to do the register... can't be messing up for the first day back, can we?"
It was the first day back after the summer holidays, and now I was in Year 11.
This was my final year here in Harton Technology College, and I know I should start knuckling down if I want to do well in my GCSEs, but I wouldn't be too surprised if a teacher called me out on minor things, just to piss me off and get me thrown out of the lesson. They had been doing for the past 4 years I had been here, so why should this year be any different?
Ever since my teachers learnt how much of a chaotic trio, me, Dylan and Deeks were, they tried their very best to separate us... using any means possible - even if it meant riling any of one of us, just to get them thrown out the lesson and quieten the other two.
This tactic used to work... back in Year 8, but now we had learnt their tactics. Now, if any one of us got thrown out of a lesson, the other two made the lesson even more chaotic, so that all three of us would get kicked out.
That way, if one us got detention we all did, so that we would never be alone. We had each others' back.
I was barely paying attention to Sir calling out names on the register, until he paused halfway down the list of names.
"I think we're getting a new member of the form," he mumbled, loud enough for the whole class to hear.
Instantly my ears pricked up. Hardly anyone moved schools during their second year of GCSEs, so there was probably some sort of interesting story as to why this person was.
As the class waited eagerly for Mr Henderson to elaborate, we were disappointed when he just continued to call out names.
I personally wanted to know whether this new kid was a lad or not. It would be nice to see if the lads and I could have a new member to our tight-knit pack.
Most of the other lads in our form were just your average, normal, console bashing, horn-dogs... except for that one kid who was the class nerd and spoke like a snob.
I got along with them but they just weren't like Deeks or Dylan when it came to causing mayhem. That's why I never really hung around with them.
Deeks and Dylan were basically my brothers from other mothers... no matter how cliché that sounded, it's true.
I was in the middle of a conversation with Deeks and Dyl, about our latest session at the youth centre, when Dylan's bird Lucy just came out of nowhere and interrupted us.
I didn't mind Luce, but she had a bad habit of taking off with Dylan whenever she felt like it, or butting into our conversation.
It also didn't help that the pair of them weren't too fussed about PDA, and would neck on with each other, regardless of whoever was around them.
Unfortunately, today it was me. I was sat next to Dylan, which was a good thing until now. Now... I was sat next to Dylan, who had an overly comfortable Lucy perched on his lap, who proceeded to eat his face off, whilst stretching her feet to place them on the edge of my chair.
Normally I wouldn't cock-block Dyl, but if his bird was going to use me as her foot rest, I wouldn't be having it.
"Did you not have breakfast like Luce?" I called out, "'Cause it looks like you're eating Dylan's face."
