It was past four o'clock in the evening when the rain started to pour. After school, the clouds became darker than usual, and the sound of the thunder crashed as the wind started to whoosh.
Suzu started to rub her palms while shivering. She forgot to bring her umbrella, so that's why she was just standing there at the bus stop. But unfortunately, there weren't any bus stopping by.
Suzu didn't know that there was a hurricane coming. She heaved a sigh as she sat down on the ground, hugging her knees tightly. She gritted her teeth while shivering. It was too cold.
And she couldn't take it anymore.
The thunder crashed as the wind started to pick up some speed. Soon, the rain poured much stronger than before and the street was now flooded. It was as if the wind was slapping her on the face. Her hair was in a mess and she couldn't see clearly anymore because of the fog.
Suzu took a deep breath to calm herself. And not sooner or later, she was splashed with water due to the car overspeeding. She's now wet because of that car. Suzu slightly groaned as her body began to tremble more because of the cold.
Fortunately, Suzu saw a light coming from afar and then that's where she noticed that it came from the bus. She tried her best to stand up despite the numbness that she was feeling. She heaved a sigh of relief as the bus stopped infront of her.
The door opened, and the coldness greeted her once again because of the air conditioner inside. It sent down shivers through her spine, and it took her almost a moment to step inside.
As soon as she stepped inside, her knees suddenly buckled, making it difficult for her to walk, so she held tightly on the railings above her.
The bus was filled with many people, making it hard for her to spot a vacant seat. Even though it was out of her own accord, she still looked for a seat, but she never looked at them in the eye.
Luckily, she was able to spot a vacant seat. But unluckily, it was beside a boy who happens to be from the same school as her.
He had the same uniform with her, but Suzu didn't waste any time to look at his face to see who he is because a cap was covering his face and his ears were covered with headphones, so she just took the chance and sat beside him because that's the only vacant seat.
And that's her only choice.
Suzu was still shivering, but then she furrowed her brows later on because she heard someone snoring. She quickly identified who that person is because obviously, he was just sitting beside her and he's the only one sleeping on the bus.
She slightly tilted her head on her right out of curiosity. But then, she quickly turned her gaze away as soon as he shove his cap away.
She didn't bother to look at him anymore because of her shyness, instead, she just pretended to be asleep.
While her eyes were closed and her palms were on her forehead, she didn't notice that she was slowly falling asleep.
And it was a long rest for her.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she was the only one left in the bus. She started to panick, so she abruptly looked outside and noticed that it was already midnight.
She was about to stand up, when she noticed a blue knitted mitten on top of her bag. She looked around, but she saw nobody. She then shrugged and picked the knitted mitten.
She furrowed her brows out of curiosity. Did someone just place their mitten intentionally, or accidentally? She then wore the mitten, and sighed in relief. Finally, she felt warm.
