                          Chapter 5

It's Saturday morning and  that meant no school. The bell rang and I was finishing off my breakfast and headed towards the door.

I find Michael at the door. I was shocked and a little scared at the same time.

"Hey, I wanted to give you back something that belongs to you" he smiled. That smile, made me melt inside.

Then I see Max with him. I just remember that I ran after I saw Hayley coming to the lot. What the hell?! What is wrong with me? I left Max! How could I have forgotten him?

"Thanks, I-I uhm for bring Max back to me" I answered. God, why do I get so nervous around this boy? You know when there's an awkward silence in between and you have no idea what else to say? Yeah, I'm in that predicament.

He smiled and I asked him if he wanted to come inside and he said "Sure".

As he came inside, I offered him something to drink or eat and he said "Thanks but, I just came from the diner".

I finished eating breakfast and I saw him admiring the house.

He broke the silence." I really like your house, it's very well decorated".

"Thank you, my mom painted it a couple of years ago" I replied.

"Oh, that's nice. So, where's your mom? Still sleeping? "He asked.

"Uhm... she's not here... as in not alive" I told him without facing him.

"Oh.. I'm sorry, I didn't know" He explained.

"No, it's okay, it happened like 2 years ago" I finished telling him.

"Well.. I better go, I don't want to keep Hayley waiting" He said while heading to the door.

"Wait.. you're dating Hayley? "I questioned. For being a new kid, he sure does work fast.

"Yeah, well, it was nice talking to you & lovely home by the way " He turned around started to head for the door, and then he turned around one last time and waved good-bye.

I think my heart just sunk into my stomach.
