Rebecca's POV
Remember when it's your first day at a new school and you had no clue who anyone was. Had no friends, walked the halls with everyone starring at you? Well, I'm in that position which in my opinion is very uncomfortable. I mean I hate it when all the attention is on me.
We all just got back from Mid-winter break. It wasn't so great if I'm being honest right now. I stayed home with Max, Gale stopped by once in a while because she's supposedly seeing this college guy. She hasn't mentioned his name which I'm sort of curious about. I still can't forget what happened that day.
Flashback:
I'm on my way to meet up with Gale and we are going to have lunch. I'm pretty sure she's going to tell me about how her date went with that guy.
I went to go look for Gale, she wasn't at the spot that we usually meet. It was a little bit odd, I shrugged it off and continued to look for her. I saw her at a table with someone. I got closer, I couldn't believe who she was sitting with. My stomach turned upside down, I was torn, I was upset and most of all, I was confused.
Michael...
End of Flashback.
After the letter I sent, I haven't heard from him. I haven't seen him. I didn't know what to feel. I mean I poured my heart out in that letter. Maybe he threw it away or was creeped out. My heart sunk and I dragged myself to first period.
Michael's POV
Gale is great. She's beautiful and I find her to be perfect. I really like her. I just don't know how to show her how I feel. I haven't told anyone that I like her, I just don't know who I can trust. The only person I can actually trust is Rebecca.
I haven't seen her lately, I hope she's doing okay. I mean I really like her but I just think that I have a better chance of getting together with Gale. I'm walking down the halls on my way to English. I was pretty early if I say so myself. I take my seat and her seat is empty. I was worried? I couldn't describe the feeling. The bell rang and that's when a couple more students walked in. The last person that entered the classroom was Rebecca.
"Hey" I gave her a half smile. I didn't know how to greet her.
"Hi" she responded, without even looking at me. Was she pissed at me?
"Are you mad at me?" I know it was something I shouldn't have asked but I just had to.
"No" she answered simply. Wow, she was definitely pissed. She was giving me one-worded answers, that's when I know she was mad. All girls do that. I mean, I remember when Hayley did that to me when I wouldn't call or answer my phone.
"I hope you don't mind but I just wanted to know why you're mad at me?" I was really hoping that she would give me a full response.
Rebecca's POV
Is he serious? Why am I mad at him? I mean, I'm not his girlfriend or anything but he forgot about me. What kind of friend does that? Should I even answer him?
"You know what just forget it" I snapped, somewhat hoping that he'll forget it and drop it.
"I will put you into groups of two and then I will explain the project" Mr. Edwards announced. Great... "I will ask a person who they would like to work with and if I see no work going on, I will change your partner myself. I have to approve of the partner you chose" he continued and the only thing I'm looking forward to going home and seeing Max.
" Michael, who would you like to work with?"
" I would like to work with Rebecca" he answered with no hesitation.
I froze. Me? Out of all people, he chose me?
