Emma's POV

Hyde and I actually had quite a few classes together. Almost all of them, including English.

As we approached the class, Killian swooped from behind us and stood next to me, carrying his books. He playfully bumped my shoulder as we reached the door, then allowed Hyde then me to go before him.

As we walked in, Killian set his books down at his desk, then followed me to my desk. Hyde looked lost, standing at the front of the room waiting for an assigned seat.

Killian leaned toward me, wiggling his eyebrows at me, then started talking.

"You know you and Edward seem to be growing close for just one day of friendship."

"He likes to be called Hyde, and yes. But there's no need for jealousy, you know I'd always pick you."

I finished my sentence just as the bell rang, and Killian smiled then gave me a peck on the nose, before jogging to his seat, just as Ms.French entered the room.

"Good afternoon class. We have a new student. Class say hi to Edward."

The whole class groaned out,"Hi Edward" as they rested their heads in their hands.

"Actually I prefer Hyde." He squeaked out as Ms.French pointed to an empty desk in the back row, 2 from mine.

"Well then, Hello Hyde." She said politely before giving an assignment.

"Class we are doing another project. It will be your test grade for this quarter. You will be choosing a research topic that you can argue how the topic relates to, is integrated in, or how it is used in works of literature. You will have to cite examples. More specific directions are on the rubric I am handing out now." She said, licking her fingers and handing out papers as the kids groaned.

"Okay, you may now pick your partners." Ms.French sighed then sat down in her chair and started clicking on her computer.

Killian and Hyde both came over to me asking to be my partner. I am really starting to feel popular.

"Sorry Hyde, I would but I was going to do this with Killian." I half smiled at him.

"It's okay don't feel bad. I'll go work with someone else." He smiled back.

I looked over at Killian and he had a smug look on his face. I lightly tapped his chest.

"Cut that out. There's no need for you to be jealous, then smug when I pick you."

He laughed, smiling."What? I'm not."

"Whatever, loser." I joked, rolling my eyes.

He sat next to me and we started working on the project, nudging each other in the shoulder playfully a bit here and there.

Class finally ended and Killian stopped me just outside the door, and we walked to our lockers. He of course finished getting his stuff before me, so he grabbed my keys and walked out to the car.

We went back to my place and sat down at the counter and started to work on the project. It got really boring really quickly though.

Killian stood up and walked over to the speakers by the tv and plugged in his phone.

"What are you doing?"

"You looked bored, so I am going to cheer you up." He tore his eyes away from his phone to smile at me.

Killian tapped on his phone and Death of a Bachelor started to play. A huge grin covered my face.

"I kinda made this our song, it doesn't really tell our story, but it was the first song we listened to together, and what I like to think as the song that brought us together." He said as he walked over to me and extended his hand.

I grabbed it and he pulled me up and started to dance, but not a slow dance. It was more like the floor was icy and he was repeatedly trying to recover from almost slipping.

I couldn't help but chuckle at him and join in. We looked like complete idiots shuffling around on the floor.

I slid into him and he caught me in his arms.

"You're so great, you know that?" Killian said, smiling and staring into my eyes.

"You are too." I pecked his lips then slid away and found another song on his phone.

"Okay, we have to get to work now. This is due by the end of the week." I chuckled, running my fingers through my hair.

"Whatever you say m'lady." Killian bowed mockingly. I rolled my eyes and sat in my stool. We worked for about half an hour before my mom came home and made things weird.

"You guys are so cute together." My mom said walking around the counter. My cheeks turned bright red and I hid myself in my arms.

"Mooooom. Please stop." I groaned.

"Okay sweetheart, you know I love you."

"I love you too." I pecked her cheek, and dragged Killian upstairs.

"Keep the door open, especially since your father will be home soon!" She yelled up the stairs.

"Okay mom!" I dragged Killian in and sat us down on my bed.

"Your mom is pretty cool." He said as he laid back on my pillows.

"Sometimes I guess, she's definitely more laid back than my dad though."

"I noticed."

"It's not like my dad doesn't trust me, it more like he's worried about me and doesn't want me to get hurt."

"Well I can tell you that I would never intentionally hurt you."

"I know." I smiled, then leaned forward over him and pecked his cheek before laying down on his chest. I grabbed his hand and held it in mine, fiddling with his fingers until my dad got home. I figured it would be better if he could see us, and not find us like this.
