Chapter 20 - He's Dead

"What are you doing here? I swear don't even touch me!" I hiss.
"Oh please, we are very aware that you do happen to be stuck in your fishy form." Eric spits knowingly.
"What did you do to me?" I ask not particularly expecting a detail answer.
"Ask your father Sebastian." Jamie snaps.
"He's dead." I spit, sitting up with my tail still in view.
"Oh really? Boys show him." Eric says.

Suddenly a large man steps out from the behind the strangers. He eyes me, I did in fact look like him.

"What's your name?" The man asks.
"Lily Darya." I say trying to sound strong.
"So you took Storm's maiden name and not mine?" He says angrily.
"I don't even know who you are." I hiss.
"I am Sebastian Seaer, the most powerful mermen of all. And you my child are the most powerful mermaid." Sebastian states strongly.

Suddenly Weilan, Mimmi, Storm, and Ondina come running into the kitchen, where I lay a mermaid and where Jamie, Eric, Sebastian and some strangers are. Without hesitation Sebastian puts his hand out and threatens to hurt me.

"Sebastian why are you here?" Storm asks.
"To take back my daughter that you stole from me." Sebastian says with power, "and if any of you come closer neither of us will get her."

Then I remember, last time when my body was rejecting my human side I swiped my hand over my body and then everything went back to normal.

Without second thoughts I did as I remembered and my tail was gone. I stand up, wiping the dust off my legs and look over at Jamie as if to say, 'thanks for nothing.'

"Lily you may have gotten over this tiny thing but please do know that I am stronger than you and all you're fishy friends."
"Please, you're just hiding your fear."

Instantly he disappeared into nothing. As if him and his destructive squad just vanished into thin air. Storm runs over and cries into my shoulder.

"Mum, why didn't you tell me he was evil and quite terrifyingly powerful?" I ask.
"Because I love him but I also love you. It's hard to understand how far love goes but as much as I was concerned he wouldn't come back." Storm says, her voice shaky.
"Well he is back and with a team." I say burrowing my head into the crook of her neck.

I love my mother and all that she's done. Storm is a good person, she did give me to B&J for most of my life but destiny drew us together.

It's been tough recovering from the incident. I wonder what Sebastian would do if he had taken me or even hurt my friends and family? My thoughts were rudely interrupted by a vision.

The sky was a dark black taking over any remanding light that might have peeked through the blanket of clouds. A huge beacon of light was protruding from each step I took on the ground. Several steps later I had flooded my surroundings with light. Remembering that this is just a vision I decide to do something extraordinary. I raise my hands to the sky and light shoots through the dark clouds, straight above my palms. I am the light of this broken world, but what is this supposed to tell me mentally?
