It was time. The day had finally came for Near to leave the Wammy's house.
You watched him pack as you along helped him pass his toys into his small suit case. Your eyes began to water as you saw him close it with the zipper line.
"(Y/N)...I have something for you before i leave..." He said as he went over to you quietly.
You looked at him in the eyes as he saw you crying again. He took something out of his pocket as he had it on his grip.
"Give me your hand" he asked you reaching over for your hand.
You gave him your hand with his as he placed something on your palm and closed it softly. You felt something hard and small on your grip that made you curious on what it was.
"What is this?" You told him while you looked at your hand and opened it slowly.
Your eyes widen to see it was his puppet toy that looked just like him. You looked back at him as you blushed. He took another puppet out of his pocket to reveal it was a small you.
"Ohh, i get it. You keep me and i keep you?" You said with a small chuckle.
"Correct" he said smiling at you.
"(Y/N)....if something ever happens to me, or if I don't come back in one piece, just remember that I will always...l-love you..." He hesitated to say the last part. Since he wasn't really good at those things. But you understood why. Although you find that adorable.
It was your first time hearing Near ever say that he loved you. Which led you to cry again.
"...I love you too, Near. I promise to study harder to be by your side. I wish to come with you though...but I understand why..." You said the last part sadly.
"...I'm going to miss you, (Y/N)..." You felt his warmth against your body as you realized he was hugging you. Which led you to cry even more. The thought of him gone was hitting you hard. You didn't wanted him to leave. But you had to accept that he had too.
There was no one else but him to stop Kira's crimes. You were worried something might happen to him. Which made you hug him tighter.
"I'll miss you too, Near. Please be careful out there. I want you back here as soon as you had brought Kira to justice. That's if I don't make it to be a successor like you are..." You rest your head against his shoulder while you continued to sob.
He hugged you tighter. "I will do what I can...just like I did with your parents death case..." He spoke softly into your back.

You watched him go into a black car as it drove away from the Wammy's house.
"Farewell, (Y/N).." Was Near's lasts words before leaving into the car.
