Heyyyy! Sorry that there was't much ships so far, just an inkling. Hopefully i'll update quickly. The backstories are almost over, people. BTW Ena is a thing still, so don't be too surprised at it's appearance.
Also random bolded parts is me just making weird puns.
[Disclaimer #12847 : I don't own Nagi no asukara, only this story and characters I say are created fully by me.]

They didn't know what to do. The adults were discussing moving to the sea, and it seemed like a very real possibility. The thing was, Chisaki and Hikari were sure that Manaka liked that one boy from last year, unknown as he may be.
Manaka seemed to space out a lot this year, and blushed a lot more. Kaname didn't seem to think that it was that boy, but if he did, he waved away the notion.
So when it was declared that the moving night would be October 24th, a month from the declared day, they made a plan to sneak out every night while the adults were busy packing their things, and explore the top as much as they could before being pulled away from the land.
Hopefully they'd be able to meet the boy from last year, too.
The first days they went to school, but after the weekends no one cared enough, everyone spent their times viewing the scenery they had took for granted, or packing leisurely, sparing some sentiments for later.
Chisaki, Hikari, Kaname, and Manaka went up to the surface. No one noticed, even when they spent hours up on the surface. Of course, they had to come back every now and then for a quick dip to replenish their ena, but they liked to stay away from the water when they could.
And before they knew it, they'd gotten maps memorized, and the days were quickly waning. The families had gotten feverish. They were worried about the travel, and some had put off packing too long.
Hikari's dad, the chieftain, had decided that they would get a ship or two to take them there, by a person they trusted. So Hikari was busy doing all the jobs previously meant for Akari. Akari was now living with a human, and had been shunned. Hikari didn't take it well, but it was one of the reasons he was so adamant on visiting the land.
Manaka didn't do so well, either. Her parents said 'enough with the view!' and put her to work.
Kaname had chosen to work, most of his furniture was unpacked. As Chisaki's parents had packed ahead of time, they helped Kaname's family.
When the day came to finally move to the sea, the village crazily planned.
But the plan was still on. They wanted to visit the land one last time, for many reasons.

Manaka, Hikari, and Kaname were stationed on boat number 2, away from Chisaki. But it was okay, because they were all going to meet Akari at 4:00.
The three from boat 2 sneaked away from the ship that night and reached land. Chisaki wasn't here yet, they noted. But she knew where to go.
Hikari, Kaname, and Manaka sat on the fishing dock. Akari and Itaru-san were going to meet them here today, because it wasn't safe for children to be out at night.
They sat and idly conversed until a voice sounded from above the slanded shore.
"HIKARIIIIIIIIII!" Akari screamed from far away, and they looked back to see the full family; Akari, Itaru Shiodome, and Itaru's daughter Miuna.
"AKARIIIIIII!" Hikari screamed back. As Akari came towards the group, she was received by three big bear hugs.
"one... two... three... where's four?" Akari counted heads, earning a little giggle from Manaka.
"Chii-chan's coming. She's never late, so she must've thought that the time was 4:30." Manaka noted, and Kaname and Hikari nodded for that.
"Well, I can't keep you waiting that long, can I?" Akari said, sitting on the sand.
"Does the ch- Does Grandpa know?" Miuna tilted her head, staring at Hikari.
"Ah... no... but he'll know sooner or later. We haven't exactly been secretive about it." Hikari scratched the back of his head.
They were silent for a bit. Since it was so late, happened to Miuna fell asleep on Itaru-san.
"Should I get her?" Kaname said after a bit, and everyone nodded.
Itaru, after checking his watch, remarked that it was past 4:30, and so they all went back instead. No one wanted to be late, and they swam far before coming to a platform, which two ships were tied to. The three pulled themselves up, facing ship 1, the ship on which Chisaki had boarded.
"CHIIIIIIIII-CHHHHHAAAAAN!" Manaka yelled, surprising Hikari so much that he nearly fell into the water.
"CHHIIIIIISSSSAAAAAKKIIII!" Yelled Kaname, and this time Hikari grabbed onto Kaname, pulling them both into the murky water. After the two had reached the top, they waited for another few minutes until someone unlatched the door.
"Sorry, we locked everyone up already! You can see Chisaki when we get there, but i'm sure she'd have appreciated the thought." the woman smiled, and locked the door again.
"At least Chisaki won't leave now, right?" Kaname said, and Hikari and Manaka shrugged.
"Bye, Chii-chan! I'll see you tomorrow!" Manaka waved to the boat until Hikari pulled her towards the second boat.
