Bad Day Or Good Day?

COUPLE DAYS LATER...

Zay's POV

It's been a couple days and today is the day some of us are going out to the country. Dallas, Johnny, Soda, Jayden and I are going. Ponyboy's staying back with Bree. Steve and Darry have work, Two-bit doesn't do much as it is, Jason and Lilly left for a week to visit their grandparents or some famliy. I like the country, it brings back those days when i was really young and my parents would bring us all out there to have a fun day and do whatever we wanted.

"C'mon Zaylee!" Soda called from the truck outside. I ran outside of our house and jumped into the truck. I get the front seat with Dallas and Soda, Johnny and Jayden get the backseat and have some junk with them, since it will fly away if it's in the bed of the truck. Soda cranked up the music as Dallas sped off, almost making us all sick from his driving, Soda drives too fast and has collected so many tickets, Two, well I don't really know about his driving. Johnny doesn't drive, he walks. Jay and I are too young to drive anyways.

"Who's excited?!" Soda yelled, I playfully punched him since he somewhat yelled in my ear as I tried to look out the front window as we just left the town. I was having fun until Dally started swerving all over the road, making me scared. So I hid my face in my knees and I think one of the other guys hit him and then Johnny told him to cut it out.

"Cut it out Dal, you're scarin' poor Zay" Johnny said. He stopped swerving and I got up looking out the window again.

"I got ya, kid" Dally said looking at me.

"Sure did, but I will get ya next time." I said and hit him playfully upside the head.

"We almost there?" Soda asked, I started laughing because we like just left the town.

"Nup!"Jayden said.

"Ugh, how long?"

"Long enough, anyone else vote we kick Soda out?" Dally asked looking around for hands and then looked back at the road. I raised my hand, we all did except for Soda of course.

"Now that ain't fair"

"Life's not fair" Johnny said.

"Shut it Johnny, ya always say that"

"Don't talk to Johnnycakes like that" Dal said.

"Johnnycakes? Never heard that one before" Jayden said.

"Yea you have, when we were kids" I said and turned around to face him, he smiled and I rolled my eyes playfully smiling back at him. I looked back out and started to sing along to Elvis or the Beatles, one or the other. Gee I don't know anymore.

"We there now?!" Soda whined.

"Yes!" I said, even though we weren't really there. We're like 5 minutes away from where we are suppose to go, but Soda just won't shut up about all this. I hopped over Soda and jumped out of the car, he got out next whining that it was suppose to be him out first.

"Well you were too slow, ma friend!" I said with a smile. He ran over to me tackling me to the ground and then started to tickle me. The others all started to head out into the field, Jay left first with Johnny. they talk a lot every now and then to each other. I am not as close as I with Johnny anymore, now that Jay's back and everything going on. I am closer to Jay then i am with Johnny, but Johnny still loves me and I still love him, as a brother.

"Stop Soda!" I cried as he tickled me some more, making me laugh and smile even more. Dally pulled Soda away and helped me up. I got up and saw Jay out in the middle of the field and was just standing there admiring the view. I started to run and then when i got close to him. I jumped on his back and he held me there, he was a little scared since I came up behind him.

"Pretty isn't it?" I asked him.

"Yea. wish it could be like this all the time." He saide.

"Me too, no fighting, no nothing. Just friends, family and good time all the time." I said and he nodded agreeing with me. I got off his back and stood next to him holding his hand. That's when I felt hands pick me up and throw me in the air. They caught me and set me down on the ground.

"So uh... what now?" Soda asked interrupting this great moment once again.

"I swear, Imma kill ya next time ya ask something stupid!" I said running up to my brother and pushing him to the ground, stitting on his back pretending that I won the biggest battle of my life.

"Get off me" He said.

"And if I don't?" I asked smirking.

"This!" Dallas said running up to me and throwing grass all over my head. I got up getting the grass outta my head and then I ran up behind Johnny.

"So?" I asked him.

"So?" He asked me confused.

"Did ya find yourself a girl yet?" I asked, he shook his head no. But he didn't seem sad about it.

"You'll find her Johnny, she's out there and the perfect one too. The longer you wait, the better of a girl ya get." I said. He nodded understanding me.

"Sorry to be a bother, but we gotta go now" Soda said. I didn't even look at the time. I raced Johnny back to the truck, he sadly won. I was fine, I knew I could beat Soda. If I tried hard enough then I could beat him fair and square. Soda got in the front seat and I wanted the front to myself and who ever was driving. So I whined and he finally let me have the front after a lot of whining and laughing.

I hopped in the front seat, Dally drove back and the other three took the backseat, fighting over who has to sit in the middle, in the end. Johnny was really quiet and was able to sit on the side, because he snuck around Soda and Jay and got to the seat first.  So Soda and Jay ended up fighting over the other side seat. But Soda took the middle since he figured he could annoy me the whole back. I sighed knowing how annoying he can be and how funny is he at doing it.

We've been driving for awhile now and I decided to turn around and face the back seat to talk to the guys. Dally talked too, but focused on the road. Jayden fell asleep and Soda decided to take some grass, that we accidentally brought into the truck, and put it all over Jay's tuff hair. He wants to see his reaction, that's when Johnny yelled as loud as he ever has in whole life.

"Watch out Dal!" He said. I turned around to look out the front window and then a big bang hit the truck. I fell back banging my head off the headrest and then off the dashboard. Everything went black after that and I don't know what happened after that, it just went pitch black...
