(Prompt: Lance approaches the reader late at night about missing his family)
You lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.
You couldn't sleep that night. You had been thinking about Earth. You missed the rain and fixing your beat up cruiser, and discovering new areas around your cabin. Just the little things.
After tossing  and turning for what seemed like forever, you decided just to take a short walk around the castle. You pulled your blanket off of you and slipped on your boots. You grabbed your jacket on the way to the door and pressed your palm to the button, causing the door to slide open. You slid your arms into the sleeves of your
(F/C) jacket and made your way down the hall.
You stuffed your hands into the pockets of your jacket and stared at the ground as you walked. You checked your watch, 1:18. Not paying attention to where you were walking, you bumped into someone. You took a step back and looked up to meet a familiar Paladin's eyes, Lance.
You raised an eyebrow at him, confused as to why he would be awake this late at night.
"Lance? What are you doing up this late?" You asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," He replied. You sighed and shrugged your shoulders.
"Couldn't sleep, thought I'd take a walk to clear my mind," You answered. Lance nodded. "Can I come with you?" He asked. You nodded in response.
You both were quiet for a few moments before Lance broke the silence.
"Hey, can I ask you something?"
You glanced at him,"Of course."
"Have you gotten homesick while we've been out here?" Lance asked. You thought for a moment. You didn't really have anyone to return home to, so you hadn't gotten homesick. You did miss parts of Earth, though.
"I have missed Earth from time to time," You admitted.
"Do you have a family on Earth?"
You shook your head no.
"I... I don't have a family, but I do miss parts of the planet. I miss watching the rain roll down the windows, and finding the constellations, and sometimes listening to the storms outside. Just small things make me miss it," You concluded.
You both walked in silence for a little while before entering the control room. You and Lance took a seat on the steps of the massive room.
Lance sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I miss my family," He said. You turned to see him staring out the huge window. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket and let out a sigh.
"What do you miss about them?" You asked curiously. Lance was still facing forwards, but a smile graced his features.
"Well, everything. My mom's hugs, my siblings teasing me, looking through the photo albums... I just miss that sort of thing," Lance concluded. You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips.
"They sound nice," You replied. Lance nodded. You knew that he missed them more than he let on, but you didn't push. You scooted closer to him and leaned your head to rest on his shoulder.
Lance's cheeks turned a faint pink as he smiled to himself. He tilted his head the rest on yours.
You both admired the stars in silence, enjoying each other's company.
