++Minji woke up, confused. She could feel someone sleeping next to her, breathing heavily, and freaked out for a second before remembering. Jungkook. She yawned and opened her eyes, finding herself staring closely at Jungkook's face. He looked so peaceful. His dark hair was messed around his head, like a dark halo, exposing his bare face. It was too cute. She poked his cheek and he pouted slightly in his sleep. Minji giggled and continued poking him. "Jungkook~ Jungkook-Ah! Kookie! Kookieeee~"

Jungkook woke up to someone poking his cheeks and softly calling his name.
"What~" He groaned, his eyes still closed and burying his face in the pillow.
"Wake up, Kookie, I'm hungry and I can't cook." He opened his eyes to see Minji smiling down at him sweetly, pulling an ayego face.
"But I can't cook either."
"Oh." She sat up and pulled Jungkook's arm.

Jungkook sat up, running his fingers through his messy hair. Minji rolled out of bed and walked out of her room, leaving Jungkook as she went downstairs. Jungkook grabbed a fresh set of clothes out of his suitcase, running into the bathroom and quickly changing, before exiting his room and making his way downstairs, after Minji.

"Hey?" He called out, padding over to where sounds of clinking china were coming from. He entered the room and saw Minji, collecting a couple bowls and setting them on the counter. She had changed into some grey sweatpants and a black hoodie, casual and simplistic. He loved it.

"Morning, Kookie. Um, now, I really can't cook for shit, but I do have cereal. Is that okay?"
"Anything's fine." Jungkook said, walking closer to Minji and wrapping his arms around her waist, back-hugging her. To others, they'd look like a couple, but to them, they were just enjoying being together.

Minji liked Jungkook, more than a friend. But she was too shy, and too afraid of rejection to make a move.

Jungkook liked Minji, more than a friend. But he was too shy, and too afraid of rejection to make a move.

"Hey. Do you want cereal or nah?"
"Fine."

They sat on Jungkook's bed, looking out of the window and over the beach, Minji's favourite place, and ate their cereal in silence.

Jungkook became nostalgic, remembering better times of happiness, of peace and harmony. Of family and laughter.

Minji became sad, remembering times with her Father, being fun and carefree. She remembered her mother, and a pang of grief ran through her. Why? Why her? She was suddenly emotional, all the feelings she felt about her Mother's death descended at once. Anger, grief, abandonment, loneliness, loss.

A tear unknowingly streamed down her cheek, but Jungkook noticed. He wiped it away, and Minji looked at him. "You're crying." Jungkook said quietly, his voice a whisper.
"Oh." Minji said, her voice cracking and bottom lip starting to wobble. "S-Sorry."
"Come here." Jungkook put his arms back around Minji, which just felt so right. He tightened his grip as Minji buried her head into his chest, letting out a sob she had been holding in for too long.

"Hey, Minji, just let it out." So Minji sobbed, she sobbed into Jungkook's shirt uncontrollably, hiccuping as Jungkook steadily rubbed her back, tracing her spine and comfortingly rubbing circles into her shoulder blades. He didn't ask, he just muttered happy and comforting things into the small girl's ears. "It's okay. I'm here. I've got you. It's all going to be okay, I promise. "

Minji's sobs reduced to sniffles and she detached her head from Jungkook's chest. They looked into each other's eyes, one worried and the other apologetic. "Sorry." Minji sniffed, dropping her gaze from Jungkook's. "I- I don't know why I'm suddenly so emotional, I- I just-"
"Minji. Please, stop apologising." Jungkook said, taking her hand in his and lifting her head up with the other.
"O-Okay."

Jungkook's head turned towards the window, and he looked out over the bright city again. It was his turn to cry, and a tear slowly made its way down his cheek. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying not to think about it. He remembered his brother, the parents that used to be so kind.

A soft hand wiped the tear away, resting on his cheek for a second. Small arms wrapped around his shoulders and he felt a weight on his lap. Opening his eyes, he saw a small human, sitting on his lap, with her arms around his shoulders, looking at him worriedly. Her eyes were puffy, a little red from crying, but she was still just so beautiful, and Jungkook didn't know what he had done to deserve this. Jungkook wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his head in her shoulder, more tears slipping out of his eyes.

Minji rubbed his back, tracing patterns and drawings on his lower back, letting him cry. Neither pressed each other for answers, just letting all the sadness out at once. Sometimes actions speak better than words.

They did the same thing for each other, just holding each other and letting it all out. It's all they needed. A hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on.

Minji lay back onto the bed, with Jungkook still holding onto her tightly. His dark head was nuzzled into her shoulder, and she smiled down at him. He wasn't asleep, but he was happy in that position, and so was Minji. So thats how they stayed.++
