Hope frowned. She looked around. Did anyone else notice the ringing sound? She stood up and paid for her meal. Passing the trashcan the sound grew louder. Peeking into the trashcan was a phone. She quickly fished it out not noticing the strange looks people gave.
Answering it she heard lots of yelling. “RYAN HIGA ARE YOU CRAZY!!! DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT?! SAYING GOODBYE?! HOW COULD YOU?!! THAT WAS YEARS WORTH OF RECORDING AND EDITING! IT WAS PRICELESS, UNRECOVERABLE WORK!!!” “Um, excuse me, but I’m afraid the person you called threw their phone away.” “Oh. Oops. Ha ha, silly me! Well sorry for the trouble. Goodbye.” Why would someone throw their phone away? She wondered.
Ring! Ring! Greg grabbed his phone. “Hello?” “I seemed to have found mister sleeps-in-the-park’s phone.” “Yeah he’s in a bit of a life crisis right now. See he’s popular internet wise and all but he’s really shaken up by the haters and all so he’s starting life over so to speak.” “Oh. Okay. Um thanks…” “It’s Greg.” “Thanks, bye.”
Hope sat in her kitchen. She turned the TV on. She walked around town. She was bored. The boy from the park was in her mind. Finally she gave in. She put on her jacket and drove to Ryan’s house.
Ding-Dong! Ryan ran to the bathroom and washed his face of tears. Opening the door he gaped at the figure before him. “Oh! Hi um, come on in.” “Well actually, I wanted you to come on out. I wrote a song for you. Let’s go to the park.”
Ryan laid on his favorite spot of grass. Hope began to strum on her guitar. Spring time is here. Flowers fill the air and there’s nothing left to fear. Spring is a beautiful time, but the best thing about it is how you became mine.
“Ryan. Ryan, don’t tell me you’re going to sleep in the park again.” He opened his eyes. He was sleeping on her. “Sorry.” He said plainly. “I haven’t been doing anything else lately.” “What-” She began but decided to drop it. “Well, Greg said you’re starting a new life so…” “What?” “Want to start a new job together? I just moved here, so I’m in need of a job.” “Alright.” He said. He only hoped no one would recognize him.
