All 5 pregnancy tests came back positive. I AM PREGNANT. My mind was going crazy and my heart was beating twice its normal pace. I am 2 days away from graduating high school and I am pregnant. My mind was set on telling Carter, but when we met that day, the words he spoke to me left me heartbroken and extremely protective of myself.

My name is Liyana Miller and I am 17 years old. My parents are very loving and supportive. Mom is a head doctor at the local hospital and dad is the owner of the biggest hotel in our town. My parents are not that rich but they brought me up with all they can give and I could never ask for more. My boyfriend Carter Blaine on the other hand is the heir to the Mercury Franchise Company owned by his parents. Growing up rich, Carter never minded being swooned over by the girls at our school. Until the day he laid eyes on me in our music class. He chased me for 2 weeks non stop asking for a date until I finally agree, and we were inseparable for the next 3 years of high school.
"I'm sorry Liyana, its over." And just like that he turned around and walked without a single glance back to where I was standing.

When he didn't look back,I dropped to my knees and let tears fall to the ground. After realizing that he will not come back, I got up with shaky knees and slowly made my way home. When I got home, my parents were watching t.v in the living room. I got in and ask them if we could talk, they turned the t.v off and my mom patted in between them on the sofa indicating for me to sit between them. I was scared to tell them, but I know that it's the right thing to do.
"What's wrong sweetheart?", my mom asked. Dad looked at me and says "Did anything happen with you and Carter, pumpkin?". By then I couldn't hold back my tears as I utter two words "I'm pregnant". Mom hugged me even tighter and cried while dad just patted my back. After sitting there lost in our hugs and tears, dad said "Does he know?", I shook my head and said "no". I explained that I had gone to tell him, but I never got the chance because he broke us up without telling me why.
"Graduation is in two days, what are we gonna do?", mom asked. Dad said that the choice was mine. Even though they are not sad that Carter had broken up with me, he said that I'm "old enough to make your own choices, and whatever you decide we will support you no matter what".
On my way home, I had already come up with a plan and after dad said the choice was mine, I told them.
" I'm moving to Eastport. That's if you guys agree. Aunt Clare and Sarah have already said that I can live with them as long as I ask you guys and you guys agree," I told them. At first mom was quiet but then she said "What about Carter?". I told them that he is no longer a part of me, he lost his right to be called my boyfriend and the father of my baby when he broke up with me.

"I guess this means your keeping the baby?" dad asks. I nodded my head and told them that I'm willing to have the baby as long as they are with me every step of the way. Mom was happy she started saying that she's gonna be a grandma. After a few more hours of talking and planning, we have finally concluded that I will move to Eastport after graduation with Sarah who will be here for my graduation. I was lost in my thoughts when mom says that they have a graduation present for me.
Two days later, my cousin Sarah took pictures of me, mom and dad and then us four. We ended up at my favorite diner eating burgers and milkshakes until it was night time. As we were leaving, mom and dad then told me to close my eyes and walked me to the door. When we reached outside they told me to open my eyes. The first thing that caught my eye was the smooth black and shiny coat of paint, and when my eyes took in the whole scene, I jumped and shrieked with excitement as I look at the Ram 1500. I know, being a daddy's princess meant that I can be pretty spoiled sometimes.

Tears were flowing freely as I loudly thanked my parents. I rushed to the driver side and opened the door reveling in the new smell of my car when Sarah opened the passenger door and said, "Wanna go for a test drive?". I looked at my parents for permission and dad threw the keys at me and says, "It's your princess, you can do whatever you want with it." I ran over to them and gave them hugs and said that we'll be back before midnight. After driving around for hours singing "What doesn't kill you make you stronger" by Kelly Clarkson, Sarah and I head home where we crashed in the living room without bothering to go to my room.
