Lainey my secretary buzzed me on the intercom and said that my meeting with Manager Kim of the Miller Hotel was moved to today because they were busy getting ready to host their welcome party for the new owner and CEO of the hotel. I was planning on partnering with the hotel to host our my companies biggest event of the season. The hotel had the biggest golf course and land that can contain all 500 guests of the party for the season. Manager Kim called 15 seconds later and asked if we could meet at the hotel today because their schedule for next two weeks have changed when the new CEO contacted them. I buzzed Lainey and asked her to tell Director Jake and Manager Cameron to meet me and to reschedule all my appointments to the next day. I took the elevator down to where my car was parked and Cameron and Jake were waiting there. When I got near them Jake asked to drive and I tossed him the keys and got in the passenger side while Cameron got in the back.

As we went my mind lingered on the issue at hand as to who the new CEO of the Miller Hotel was. I was determined to find out who the new CEO was because a week ago Liyana's parents were in an accident taking their lives on impact. The hotel ran smoothly even though its owner had passed away. From what I had been able to gather, no one knew whether Liyana knew about the accident or not. The town was buzzing as to who will take over the hotel and from the intel I got from Jake and Cameron, the only people who knew the new CEO were the Miller family attorney and Manager Kim. For the past three days, I had constantly had Lainey ask Manager Kim for the new CEO's name but every time, Manager Kim always says that the CEO had signed a contract stating that he/she will stay anonymous until the time comes to reveal themselves.

As we neared the hotel, I was thinking whether Liyana would ever come to her parents funeral. I had learned from Jake that funeral arrangements were made by Mr Jim McCall. The funeral will be in 2 days. And I was secretly hoping that Liyana would show up. We pulled up to the hotel and a black truck was in front of us. We sat there waiting for the truck to move, when the driver and passenger both got out. The passenger was a blond woman around her late 40s and the driver well, I couldn't see who the driver was but I guess it was the woman's husband. We waited for the truck to move and then when the valet moved the car to take to its parking, Jake moved the car forward slowly and stopped where the truck was a few seconds ago. I looked down to unhook my seatbelt, and when I looked back up, my eyes connected with green ones of a woman with bright orange hair who was the driver of the truck. Jake smacked me on the shoulder and I looked at him when he said "Don't forget the folder". I looked back to the woman but saw nobody where she had stood.

My head was spinning and I felt different. Those green eyes had fear and sadness etched in them. The girl however was beautiful. Her hair was hanging down all the way to her back, and she looked in a hurry compared to the woman she came with. My mind instantly jumped to Liyana, but thinking about Liyana I knew  her for 3 years and she had never hang her hair before and when she did it was only once, the night of our homecoming dance. We got out of the car and walked in the hotel and were greeted by Manager Kim. I looked around hoping to catch another glimpse of the mysterious girl but the lobby was near empty and the only people there were the bellboys and Manager Kim and us three. The meeting was a success when we ended with the conclusion that the party will indeed be hosted but was pushed to happen in 1 week after the funeral. I asked Manager Kim if there was any way that we could know who the new CEO was but she said that she respects the CEO and is honoring the contract by not stating the name of the new CEO. We ended the meeting after a few more planning and then we left. We were in the elevator going down to the lobby when a young couple and 2 kids got in from the 3rd floor. The woman looked at me and then the boys and then bend to take each of the kids hand and kept them in front of her. From the way the girl and the boy were dressed I think they were twins.

When we got to the lobby the couple each took one of the twins hands and walked out. As we were waiting for our cars, the couple got in their car and just as they were leaving, the little girl turned around and wave at me. I was shocked when her blue eyes looked at me and then she wave and her smile was bright. I was shocked that her blue eyes stood out clear and bright against her bright orange hair. Jake poked me and said "Do you know them?" I shook my head and said "No, but that little girl waved at me". they both laughed at me and Cameron said "Wait till you have kids of your own, and then you'll know what Jake's going through" and with a loud laugh, Jake punched him on the arm. Oh,Jakes wife Christina gave birth to their first boy who was now 1 going on 2. Cameron  and Lana are expecting theirs. We got in the car and drove to our favorite bar the twins forgotten.
