By the time Sarah and I  left for Eastport, mom and dad were were still etched in my mind and the looks they had on their faces when we said our goodbyes. The last thing they said to me was to always keep my head up and never give up. Mom handed me an envelope and said to open when I settle in.

Road trip. Sarah drove us from California all the way to Maine where I will be living with them. As we near the end of town, we stopped at old man Bill's gas station to fill up and Sarah got out to buy chips and drinks, when a familiar BMW X5 pulled in to the pump that was across the other side. Carter got out of his car and started to fill up his gas when he turned around and leaned against the car. From where he was standing he can see me through the passenger side where I was slouching down trying to make myself unknown to him, yet he couldn't see me. He looked at my truck and kept staring until Sarah came out of the store closing it with a slam. He was startled and turned around to look giving me the chance to straighten up and leaned my head back so he cant see me.

Sarah took forever to walk to our car, by the time she did, Carter had turned back around and he was shocked to see me sitting in the passenger side with my hair down. Sarah got in and started the car and was trying to drive when I reminded her about the pump that was still stuck in the gas tank. She got out to take it off when I see Carter hurriedly tried to close his pump while never taking his eyes off mine. By the time Sarah got in and drove us away, Carter was standing where our car was just missing us by seconds. I told Sarah to slow down and not stop, I then turned around with tears falling to see Carter on his knees and the last thing I heard him say while screaming was "LIYANA" .

Sarah was about to stop the car when I told her "no, let's go." And that was the last time I saw Carter and that was 4 years ago. Thinking back to when we reached Eastport, Aunt Clare was happy that we had arrived safely. She showed me to the third master bedroom of the house and said that she got my back. When I got settled in, I opened the envelope that mom and dad gave to find two credit cards in my name. I cried and dialed their phone asking what the cards are for. Mom said the other is for me and the other is for the baby. I cried even harder telling her and dad thank you and that I loved them.

But, that was 4 years ago, when I got "out of the woods"(hence the video). I lost Carter but found myself with my kids.
