Chapter Five

''What else is there to lose?'' Ruby was right. This was my chance to tell Ethan how I've always felt about him, I'm just scared he'll never understand. We've only text each other all fun and games, but what if he doesn't like the real me?

I look down at my phone and see the last text he sent...I saw you crumble and I know you want more. He can't be serious with me right now...he must know I'm obsessed and thinks it's funny to play tricks on me, fucking with my emotions.

Like Ruby said I have nothing to lose, so I dive right in...real fucking deep.

Cut the fucking bullshit. What do you want from me?

I slowly breathe in and out as I feel my lungs start to slowly suffocate, just waiting for him to text me back.

Ethan: I simply want you.

Why me...you've never spoken to me in your life. I'm surprised you even know my name...

Ethan: You sure about that babygirl ;)

That's when it hit me...flashbacks from the house party ran through my mind and all I can hear is Ethan repeating I gotta go babygirl. My head started to feel light and my vision started to blur.

''R-Ruby!!!'' I tap her arm three times real fast and her head shoots up at me as I show her the texts.

Ruby looks at me confused as I try to explain to her about what happened that night whilst I can feel my heart beat faster and faster. I try to process what to say until it all comes spilling out.

''Ruby we fucking made out at that party!! I swear to god we were so close to fucking and he called me babygirl then walked away leaving me hanging'' Ruby sits there with her mouth wide open, speechless.

I leave her to sit there as I carry on texting Ethan. I was getting such a rush and I wanted more.

I remember...but still, why me?

Ethan: I remember not finishing what I started...so why not you?

Holy fucking shit.

Listen Ethan...I know you know that I'm obsessed with you. I know your fucking around with me, just admit it...I'll be willing to put this behind us.

Ethan: Fucking around with you sounds good to me. I'm serious Cece...I haven't stopped thinking about you since.

In shock I drop my phone to the ground as I stare at the wall in front of me...this can't be fucking happening to me.

''Shall I leave? Feels like I'm interrupting something going on here'' at this point Ruby is literally sat in front of me shaking and clicking her fingers right in my face, but my eyes look right through her as they're still locked onto the wall.

''Okay ima leave...I'll text you?'' She try's getting through to me but my body won't allow it. As she quickly makes her way out the door I raise my arm to wave goodbye with my eyes still locked on in shock.

She slams the door behind her and the sound brings me back.

''Fuck'' the word falls out of my mouth as I bend down to pick my phone up from the floor.
