I stood in front of the small group of people we'd gathered. The vampires stood together, Pete glaring at Harrison who wore a scowl on his face and Patrick staring at Brendon, who - since Lily's death - was chosen to represent the coven. Then there was Bruno, wearing a displeased look on his face as he waited for me to begin. Jack was there too, however, he was trying to distance himself from us as much as he could, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the window sill, his gaze locked outside.

How much could've changed while I was gone?  I thought to myself, What happened with these people?

"Okay, guys, listen up," I spoke, breaking the silenced tension and attracting everyone's attention, "This war has got to stop. We're never going to be able to defeat these demons if we're constantly at each other's throats."

"I'd rather deal with a demon than any one of these idiots," Harrison sneered, his narrowed stare with Pete growing even more narrow.

"Hey, bud, remember who has a big secret that could ruin your life," The vampire snapped back.

"Hey!" I yelled, "I don't give a shit about what anyone of you would rather do. This fight ends today. The war ends today." I pointed to the outward part of the building. "Look at what our hatred, greed, and anger towards one another have done! It's torn us apart, it's killed us, and it's destroyed our town." Everyone in the room went silent. "We've destroyed our home, but now it's time to rebuild it."

Based on the stares I was receiving, I could tell people were still resistant to the idea of working together. "History shows that the factions have never agreed on anything, and because of that we've been on the brink of war for hundreds of years. Well, we've finally had it and now it's over," I emphasized, "Everyone here may hate one another, but we have bigger and more horrible things to worry about now. This demon wants all of us dead, and thanks to all of you, you're fulfilling its wish." All of the group members kept their lips pressed tightly together, their eyes locked on me as they anticipated me to finish my speech. I heaved a sigh and continued, "I mean it when I say we're done fighting; if I even catch a glimpse or hear about a fight between anyone, I will personally end that feud. Understood?" My face became serious as I threatened the small group. "There will be enough time to figure out how to solve the problems in between the four factions, but for now, we'll have to cope with whatever we have left."

I looked at the four of the faction leaders. "Patrick, Bruno, Brendon, and Harrison, you guys are responsible for your kinds. If you don't want to work together, then you can kiss this city goodbye because it's not going to survive this infestation if we don't unite together and work as one. Okay?"

The four men all nodded their heads in hesitant agreement.

"Now that that's settled, I'm giving each faction a separate assignment, but anyone from any faction can join in on patrols. Be sure to spread the word." I turned to Brendon and said, "Brendon, you and the witches will set up a mandatory hospital for any serious needs. And Patrick..." I shifted my gaze over to him and his friends. "...the vampires will set up housing and food for everyone in the town. Lastly..." I spun around and faced Bruno, crossing my arms over my chest. "... the pack will begin working with a hunter, looking for the demon."

Later that night, Bruno and I started giving out sleeping areas for anyone that showed up injured or homeless to the pack house. People went through the home, still in their separate factions, and began creating makeshift cots or seeking medical help from the witches. I looked over at Lynn, noticing that she was in deep conversation with a few wolves. At one point, she glanced over at me, allowing me to see that she was alright.
