I wanted to stay at the hospital all night, waiting for my mom to keep her promise and make my friend better, but the doctors sent me home, saying the she needed to rest and that her condition wasn't getting any better.

What was I thinking? What if my mom was lying? What if Rachael wouldn't get better? What if we die?

I pulled into the pack territory, parking my car and going around to the trunk to take out a few boxes. They were full of things Lynn said she needed. What those things were, I had no idea.

I made my way inside and looked around to see a few worried faces on paranormals of all kinds. I placed the packages down on the counter and told a werewolf that they were for Lynn.

Afterwards, I went up to my old room - feeling the need to have a moment alone, to myself. I opened my door and frowned. The room was still filled with a few personal items, but for the most part, it appeared empty. I hadn't gone home with Bruno, I couldn't. I didn't want to, I didn't trust him. I sat on the side of my bed facing the window, watching the full moon as it sailed across the pitch black sky.

I heard the floors creak behind me and I snapped my head back, my eyes falling upon Jack standing in the doorway. The second my eyes met his, he turned around and went to leave when I called out to him. He stopped in his tracks and heaved a sigh, keeping his back to me.

"Jack, can we talk?" I asked politely.

"No, we can't," He muttered in response, staying in his place and tilting his head down.

"I met mom," I blurted out.

I wasn't sure how I felt about saying that. Mom. I never used that word before. I didn't know what it was like to have a mom, or more brothers and sisters. I was just getting used to having a twin. But an entire family? That was going to take time to grow comfortable with.

"Good for you," He responded bluntly, refusing to look back at me or become involved in a conversation with me.

I heaved a sigh before standing. "Are we always going to be mad at each other?"

He let out a long breath and glanced back at me. "You made a fool of me, Kenya. I get that I'm not like you and that I don't belong in this town, but you're my sister. You should've been there for me, and you weren't."

I nodded my head, understanding that I was a part of his pain. I was his family, and it was time I started acting like it. "I'm sorry for most of the things I said, Jack. But I'm not the only one hurting someone here, you hurt me as well."

"I don't care, Kenya. You made it pretty clear that you don't want me around, so I was just on my way out."

"I don't want you to leave Jack," I stated while looking down. He was my brother, and even though we were at odds, I couldn't lose him. "I shouldn't have said all those things. Please stay."

"No, Kenya, I've made up my mind and I'll be gone by morning. I was just going to grab a few things, but I didn't realize you'd be here. I thought you were going to stay at the hospital."

I nodded my head. "If you're content on leaving then I won't stop you, but it won't change the fact that you're my brother. I'm sorry I wasn't a better sister." With that, I turned around and walked back to my bed, sitting down and looking out the window once again.

Jack stood there for a moment or two before going to turn and leave, only to be stopped by the sound of screams echoing through the house. He flinched, his head shrinking into his shoulders.

I quickly stood and ran out of my room. Jack wasn't too far behind me as we went for the stairs, only to be stopped by three demons. One came charging at me, throwing a fist that I easily dodged. I grabbed their exposed arm and threw them behind me. Meanwhile, the other two attacked, one went for Jack and the remaining spawn attempted to face me. I blocked every punch and kick, looking over to my brother who easily tossed the demon over the railing to the lower level floor. I nodded in approval before grabbing the spawn I was sparing with by the neck, and instinctively I opened my mouth and sucked out the demon from the inhabitant. I dropped the dead corpse and looked to my brother.

"You can do that now?" Jack wondered as we ran down the stairs side by side.

"Really? You just threw someone over a railing," I stated.

"There's a huge difference, you just sucked a demon out of someone's face!" He reminded me. I rolled my eyes.

We turned the corner and ran into an invisible wall, both falling on our backs and looking up to see my favorite witch standing over us, a smirk on her face and her arms crossed over her chest. "Yeah, Kenya, there's a huge difference," She agreed with my brother, reaching down and grabbing me by the shirt, pulling me close to her. It was then that I noticed her eyes had gone completely black, the girl behind them missing.

"Maybe I should do the same to you." I threatened, trying to keep a brave face.

Rachael's sister chuckled sinisterly, throwing me down the hall. My body crashed into the wall at the end of the hallway and fell to the floor. "You couldn't get rid of me even if you wanted to. And you wanna know why? Because my host isn't dead. She's still alive and she won't let go of me, no matter how hard you and your little friends try." The witch started making her way towards me, scooping me up in her hands and slamming me into the cracked wall, making it deteriorate even more. "I'm giving her everything that she's ever wanted. You see, Kenya, you can't just take and not give back. That's not how you get what you want. You've got to compromise, be fair - two things you've never been, nor will you ever be." Blood escaped my lips and my vision was becoming blurry as my head it the wall. "But you know what you will do? You'll tell me where that fucking vampire is, and that wizard."

I smiled and laughed hysterically, my eyes lazily rolling back. I gathered all the blood in my mouth before spitting it out in the witch's face. "Fuck you," I stated while tilting my head back, "You're not going to win, and Natalie - if you're even in there - you didn't compromise. You lost."

"I think you're mistaken from the loss of blood," The girl smirked, digging her fingers into my skin and causing blood to pour from the holes she'd created. I growled in pain and wiggled, hoping that she'd stop hurting me. "Natalie wanted this, so if anything, she's already won. She wanted her sister to die, she always has. Rachael is a monster, taking everything away from Natalie before she even had the chance to take it. I'm just trying to make up for her wrongs, you see?"

"Please, righting a wrong? Demons are selfish; you're doing this for your own needs. Once you're done with her, she'll be dead. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't slit her own throat before the night is over, just so you can stay."

The young witch's smirk grew wider. "You think you know everything, don't you?" She yanked me closer to her, our faces inches apart. "That's a good thing, because then I'll know where the two people I'm looking for are."

With that, I was dropped to the ground, only for my head to be grabbed and the girl's nails digging into my skull. I screamed in pain as the demon wracked my memory, locating her two targets with ease. She smiled and ripped her sharp nails from my skull, my body falling to the ground.

She bent down and pulled my head up by my hair, saying, "That's another thing, Kenya, I'm not just trying to right that fucking witch's wrongs, but I'm making sure this town never falls under your hand again. You hear me?" She threw me down into the ground and extended her hands out to the sides, attracting two of her minions. "Take these two to the grave site. I'll get the other two." And within the blink of an eye, Natalie vanished, her demon followers approaching Jack and me and picking us up.

The world around me was spinning and I shook my head multiple times, still a bit dizzy from the blows delivered. I looked over to my brother and he growled while they held him against the wall. They did the same to me, binding both of our hands with ropes that burned - wolfsbane, of course.

I twitched as they stuck a needle in my brother's neck, and he quickly faded. A few seconds later, I felt a prick. Did they do the same to me? They must have, I was slipping into the darkness. I began to panic, but the medication was relaxing my body. I slumped down to my knees and allowed my eyes to close.
