The words they said

Never fade.

Again and again,

She tells herself she's okay.

The words still find their way

Into her thoughts,

Reminding her she's not.

She knows they were just being mean,

Without a second thought of what their words might do.

She takes a deep breath,

And tries to remain calm.

She tries to block the voices out,

But still their words ring out like a gong,

Reminding her of all that's wrong.

They don't realize this is it,

Not until they hear the news.

She was found all alone

With only a note in her hand.

A note that told the story of every wrong thing she did.

They begin to cry and wonder why,

They did all the things to lead to this.

They can't comprehend it.

They thought she was okay,

But they were just blind.

And now they all tell the story

Of why she died,

With regret of their blind eye.
