Inspired by the multitude of Vampire Academy fanfics I've been reading.

"Rose, come look at this!" Lissa said, pulling something from the rack.

I was only a few feet away from her, keeping a watchful eye on my surroundings. Her other guardians kept their distance, but I could spot them with my trained eye. Dimitri and Christian were a section over in the appliances section, Christian claimed he needed new kitchen supplies.

"What is it?" I said, scrutinizing the mass of fabric.

Lissa rolled her eyes, "It's a dress, Rose. I don't care if you're on duty, you have to try this on."

"Liss, you know me better than that. I don't care if you have ten other Guardians, I'm not doing it." She pouted and held out the dress, but I stayed firm, "Absolutely not. If you really want me to get the dress I'll come shopping on my day off and try it on. But I'm not leaving your side."

"Fine. But you are coming back to try it on. I haven't been wrong about a dress for you yet." She reluctantly put the dress back on the rack, and moved on to the next rack, skimming through it.

"I know you haven't, which is why I really do plan on coming back to try it on. I mean, if it has even close to the same effect on Dimitri as that black dress did... That'll be a fun night."

"Whatever happened to that dress? You haven't worn it since that night." Lissa commented as she pulled a shirt and examined it.

I grinned, "Oh, I still have it. I'm just waiting a little longer before I unleash it again. It's not a dress to wear lightly. I wield massive power in it."

"By a little longer do you mean the anniversary of a certain day?" She gave me a sly smile as she returned the shirt.

"Absolutely. The best part is that Dimitri doesn't know I still have it. He thinks I gave it away after that night."

"Why does he think that? That dress was amazing on you, you'd have no reason to get rid of it."

It as my turn to give her a sly grin, "Well, I might have told him that it got torn in the rescue and I had to get rid of it. It'll make for an excellent surprise attack."

Lissa laughed, "Well I'm sure that's one attack he won't mind. I've noticed you guys haven't done it in a while."

"How the hell do you know that?"

"A little bit of the face, a little bit of the aura."

Of course, "Yeah, we've just both been so busy lately. We've been content to just come home and collapse on the couch together. We're not strangers to not doing it."

"You should have told me sooner, I would have given you a day off. And Christian would have given Dimitri the day off too."

"We're not rabbits, Lissa. We can go a week or two without jumping each other. Unlike someone I know."

That got a laugh as Lissa returned another rejected shirt to the rack. "At least you're not sucked into it anymore."

"True, very true."

She was just moving to another section when a voice interrupted us. "Lissa? Rose?"

We turned and saw a familiar face. "Jack?"

Lissa's eyes went wide, the two of them had gone out briefly back when we were on the run. They'd broken it off a month or so before we disappeared.

"It's been forever!" He said, grinning, "It was like the two of you dropped off the face of the planet last year."

Lissa shifted, but I was used to coming up with lies. "Yeah, the move was kind of sprung on us too. Didn't have much time to let people know about it."
