This idea had been floating around in my head for a while and plus, there are so many moments I want to share with my fans.

I knew why he had to do it but that didn't mean I was happy about it. Despite the fact it was the middle of August, the vampiric morning had brought with it a cool night wind and I pulled my jacket closer around me. Dimitri noticed, of course, and put his arm around me as we walked. We weren't far from the Guardian headquarters when I slowed to a stop.
"What is it?" Dimitri asked, stopping as soon as I had.
I looked towards the holding cells and sighed, "I know I've asked you this a million times but are you sure you want to do this? We don't even know if she'll tell you the truth."
Dimitri gave me one of his looks before following my gaze towards the cells. "It's something I have to hear for myself. And if she refuses to tell me, well I can say that I tried to reach out to her."
I felt bad that I knew why Tasha had framed me but hadn't told Dimitri, but at the same time we were both still a bit fragile, he had forgiven himself but I still found him looking lost sometimes, and I wasn't completely healed from Tasha shooting me yet.
"If you don't want to go you don't have to." Dimitri's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
I shook my head, "I'll go as far as the end of the hall, but I don't want to intrude on your conversation.
Dimitri nodded like he expected as much, which he probably had. He took my hand and we started back towards the cells. Since we weren't on duty we had to sign in just like any other guest and go through the proper search. They even took away our stakes, which was probably a good idea. Dimitri may be better at hiding it but we both had fierce tempers and anything Tasha said could tip that scale.
We finally finished getting through security and made our way towards the actual cells. As I had said, I stopped a respectable distance from Tasha's actual cell. I gave Dimitri's hand a final squeeze and then gave him a gentle push towards her.
Her cell was around a corner, so I couldn't see either of them once Dimitri turned it, but I could still clearly make out the conversation.
"Tasha." Dimitri was trying hard to keep his voice controlled. He'd wanted to shout her name and rattle the bars.
I could imagine Tasha looking up from where she had been contemplating her life with wide eyes when she heard him, "Dimka!" I heard a clanging and assumed Tasha had thrown herself against the bars.
"Don't." Dimitri said, "Do not call me that."
"Please, not you too. Even Christian has been visiting less and less. You have to believe me, I did this for the good of Moroi and Dhampirs! Tatiana was driving us to extinction with every law she passed!" The desperation was clear in her voice.
There was a heavy pause, and I could almost see Dimitri taking her words in before carefully considering his own. "What you did was despicable. You may have had the right intentions, but your methods were beyond anything I've ever seen. You killed the Queen, Tasha."
"I didn't mean for it to be this way, please you have to believe me!"
"What is there to believe? That you didn't want to get caught? That you wanted to get away with murder? That you wanted Rose to take the fall for you? Rose, who has done nothing but support your ideas. Rose, who, along with your nephew, proved how useful Moroi could be in battle. Rose, who has done more than anyone to keep the people she loves safe." I felt my heart warm when he talked about me like that. True, it had been happening a lot more often in the past month that we've finally been together, but it still gave me a thrill. "Why Rose?"
