Chapter 10

We all arrive in the middle of the woods where there is a clear patch of dirt surrounded by tall trees. "Do you have your steele?" I asked Izzy who's standing beside me, waiting for the wolves to arrive.

She swiftly removed one from her left boot and handed it out to me. I gladly took it. "Best if my mother doesn't find out that I left mine in the Cullen's house"

"She'll be furious"

I nodded in agreement. Just then, my mom called out for my name in a rather stern tone.

I walked to her, hiding Isabelle's steele in my back pocket.

"I saw what you did there. Where is your steele, Ivylyn?" she asked.

"I accidentally left it in the Cullen's house" I said with an apologetic smile.

She rolled her eyes. "This will never happen again, understood? What if we were suddenly ambushed and got spilt up? How will you be able to regain your health?" she warned.

"Yes mother, I understand" I nodded.

"Very well. Now go on and heal yourself before we start"

As I made my way back to Izzy, everyone turned towards the big broken tree trunk. At top of it stands about seven wolves.

One wolf made eye contact with Bella which then lead to her greeting the wolf. Then it searches for mine and locks with it as well. Those brown eyes. Jacob. We were both lost in our own worlds, staring into one another's eyes.

"Welcome" Carlisle had began, startling me and breaking my gaze with Jake. "Jasper has experiences with new borns. He will teach us how to defeat them. Let's start"

Jasper stepped forward and started to explain strategies in killing new borns. Then, he called on Emmett. They both started on a natural stance and then Emmett sped to Jasper. It was a short battle and Jasper won.

Next was Carlisle and Edward. Carlisle threw Edward and he spun to the ground. I could see Bella with an anxious look. Her boyfriend regained posture immediately. Edward made a come back and managed to bring Carlisle down. He looked at Jasper with a victorious look. "One more thing" Jasper said to Edward and then Carlisle took him down "Never turn your back on an enemy" Jasper finished.

While it was Jasper versus Rosalie, I sat down on a tree stump not far from the others. I brought up Isabelle's steele. While drawing an iratze near my shoulder, Jake came up to me.

"Hey" I said. He bobbed his head in response. "Is it weird if I say that your kind of wolves are cuter than ours?"

Jacob made a noise that I assumed was him laughing.

"And bigger. Ours is like the size of a normal wolf"

Jake nuzzled his head against my face. I happily petted him.

"Now let's try along with the shadowhunters, shall we?" Jasper suggested.

I turned towards where the others are. "Well, I have a feeling things are going to get dirty" I say to Jake.

"First of all, if two of you could demonstrate how you would fight in a battle please" Jasper began. "The best two fighters"

Everyone looked at us, the shadowhunters, and then our kind looked at Jace and I. I sighed in annoyance. Great, I have to go into combat again. Just after a one on one with the same person.

Jace and I stood on the middle where everyone could see us. "With weapons, or without?" I asked Jasper.

"Well I doubt that you would win a fight between a vampire doing martial arts. So with weapons"
