Halsey - Haunting"I was as pure as a river, but now I think I'm possessed. You put a fever inside me and I've been cold since he left."

"I knew I could rely on you, I knew I could."
Holder said walking over to the woman to pull her into a bear hug
"I'm not that much of a hugger, now stop squeezing me, you're gonna break my spine!!" The woman yelled and Holder laughed "you haven't changed."I crossed my arms "Davidson, this is Detective Sarah Linden. We were partners a few years back"
Linden smiled at me and we shook hands "Holder told me much about you. Don't you, Holder?" She smirked and looked at Holder who looked like a 12 year old who's crush on the science teacher just got exposed in front of the entire class
"Cut that out, Linden, we got work to do.""Well, thanks to me, this case should be closed soon."
"Okay, you brought him here. But where's your evidence?" I asked sceptical"Holder and I will get you the information we need from him, I promise. He'll be sitting in court begging for his ass not to be locked away forever quicker than you can say "Guilty."
I walked after them "so, I don't know if you're concerned that this is my case? You have no right to just show up here and take it away from me? Who even are you? Why do I feel like all you guys ever want is to lock someone away, closing the case and move on to the next one.
You will not do this with my case. I will not let any of you just take Frank Turner and lock him away without any proper evidence."Before Linden could even reply to my words, Holder shoved me into our office "Davidson. I called Linden to help us with this case, no one said she's taking it away from you. We'll solve it together and find the evidence against Turner we need. I will not allow you to be cut out from it. Deal?"
He smiled and laid his hand to my cheek, which was the first ever time he touched me. Ever. I closed my eyes and breathed out.
I should probably not let myself influence on this. My point still stands, but Holder's words made me weak. And I hated it. So much.I opened my eyes and Holder still smiled at me, his eyes forced into mine. It was such a weird feeling, for a quarter of seconds, it felt as if we were more than partners. As if there could be more.
We quickly moved apart and giggled like a pair of teenagers.
"Well, okay." I finally answered "But you make sure she's shutting up, okay? Why does she act like she's the queen of everything and everyone anyway?!"
Holder laughed "you don't know her like I do. That's just the way she is."
________
"Mister Turner, do you know why you're here?" I asked looking at him. He was handcuffed to the table and looked to the ground. No reaction.
Holder and Linden were in my office. I wanted to do this myself. I couldn't use Holder's or Linden's help on that, especially since I hardly even knew this woman. Yet, when our ways first crossed it felt as if we met before.
I can't tell whether it was because of how many endless stories about her Holder told me the past year, or because we had actually met, which was, considered Linden retired, rather unlikely.
