Emeli Sandé - My kind of Love

"'Cause when you've given up,
When no matter what you do is never good enough,
When you thought it would ever get this tough,
That's when you feel my kind of love"

"Wait, how'd you know?"
I asked walking after Linden who smirked holding her paper cup tightly "because I recognised her goddamn voice, I'd recognise it all over again..."

Before I could ask her any more questions, she disappeared into a backroom
"What the..." Holder asked confused "this lady knows more than we do apparently"

"What did she mean by she knows Turner's wife? We don't even know if she's still alive, she's been missing for 5 years now." I said looking up to Holder who gave me a shoulder twitch "that bitch ain't dead I guess, and we don't even have her name"

"...Cara. Her name's Cara. At least, it used to be. She might have changed it."
I breathed out "maybe Linden's gonna find an address or something I don't know...GODDAMN. This is getting out of hand, sometimes I wonder if Linden knows more than she tells us."

"Nah, Davidson." Holder leant next to me "if she knew shit she'd let us know."
"Ha. Anyways. Down for some of your vegan tofu crap? I'll have fries or something I don't know"
"Slow down tiger, are you asking me out?" Holder smirked

"Shut up and grab your jacket it's cold outside."
We walked down the corridor when Holder's phone rang
He looked at me then back at the phone
"Sorry, my fans are waiting...Detective Holder?"
He stopped "...but she's okay, yeah? Okay I'll be there as soon as possible."

"Sorry Davidson, dinner date must wait. See you tomorrow." He looked worried but he tried to hide
"Is everything okay?" I yelled after him but got no response

"GREAT." I groaned in anger when Linden finally returned from the room "where did Holder go? Anyway. We got something. Turner's wife manages the website for a few years already. Apparently since Jessica died."

"So, what are we gonna do?" I asked
"Nothing, we'll meet those emo kids tomorrow. Get some sleep, Jane. I'm gonna have a drink, I need it right now."

"Can I join?"
"...sure why not, but hurry I'll leave in 5."

I never knew Linden would hang out at places like this. We were in a kinda shady bar in a part of the city you better shouldn't go yourself. But sure, Linden's a cop she probably felt save.

She was chain smoking and drinking one whiskey shot after another. Me, as a non drinker, didn't really know how to approach her so I just sat there sipping on the same glass of beer for 2 hours.

"You know, Jane. There's a reason I came back here. I wasn't gonna come back to Seattle, but I missed the old times I guess. I missed Holder."

I looked through my glass over to her "Holder? Why'd you miss him?"

She chuckled, then lit up another cigarette "me and Holder always had this goddamn...who knows what it was. He probably told you about that one time he tried to kiss me"
I shook my head
