Rise Against - Satellite

"You can't feel the heat, until you hold your hand over the flame"

Back at the station, I saw Holder leaning on the our office. He smoked a cigarette. He wore the same hoodie and a grin on his handsome face, the face that was to blame for all the confusion inside my head.

"Whats up Linden?" He asked ignoring me though I stood right in front of him. Linden gave him a smirk and went inside the office. He wouldn't run off, he had to face the consequences of leaving me here all alone with Linden.
"You haven't returned any of my calls, I was worried Stephen."

"I was busy? Stop making a scene. Believe it or not, you're not the centre of the universe, Jane. Shocked and disgusted, eh?"

I grabbed him by his hoodie "Listen up, wanker. We have a fucking case to solve, the guy who killed these girls is still out there. Do you want to be the one to blame for another victim?"

He smiled dirty at me "maybe, you should've been this dominant from the beginning, I like dominant ones..." Then he roughly pushed me out of his way "you don't play no games with me, Davidson."

"Guess what? You can stay here. I'm out solving this case without your fucking help. You lied to me Holder, more than just once. And because I liked you I never accused you of it, but these times are over now. Don't forget, the Walker case was my case from the beginning, you're just my partner. I don't need you. I never did." I walked off without looking back

"Davidson..." Holder's whining voice echoed through the corridor but it was my time now. He had Linden now, she was all he ever wanted anyway.

Since Turner, our biggest suspect in this case, blew his head off, I was back to the very beginning.
Without a partner. It wasn't the first time I was by myself, so it shouldn't be this big of a deal for me.

After I found a more than clear connection between the voodoo triad and the girl's deaths, all I needed to find was the connection between Turner's daughter and the victims.
So I was going to ask the ex fiance of Turner's daughter a few question.

"Seattle PD, please open the door. I have a few questions to ask you."

George Harrington, that was his name, had gotten married again after Jessica's death. I doubted that I would get any useful information, but I was not going to give up on this case without fighting.

A little girl, maybe 5, opened the door and smiled at me, this must've been Jessica's daughter.
"Is your dad home?" The girl nodded and ran to the kitchen to get her dad

George then came out with the little girl carried on his arms
"How can I help you, Detective?" He asked
"I have to ask you a few questions about Jessica. Is that okay?"
He nodded and let me in

"I'm sorry for the mess, my wife is in New York. So how can I help you?"

I sat on the couch "A young girl was found dead a few weeks ago and the fingerprints of Jessica's father were found on her body. But, he shot himself yesterday and shortly before he died he told us to ask Jessica about the murders-"

"...you are concerned Jessica committed suicide 2 years ago?" George interrupted me

"Yes, but mister Harrington, we're trying everything possible to find the girls' murder, and Jessica's father was our biggest suspect.
My actual question is, was Jessica in any way linked to voodoo or black magic?" I asked
