Sun rays disturbed Sanyukta's sleep and she scrunched her nose in annoyance. She seemed to be enjoying her sweet slumber lying on something which felt more comfortable than her tattered dilapidated mattress. She moved a bit in sleep and moaned while, rubbing her eyes. At once, she was shifted back to the reality as she felt his soft snores blowing off the curls surrounding her nape. Her sleep was forgotten long back when she registered that they were lying on the same position from the night before. His face was dug between her left shoulder and neck. His soft snores tickled her skin beneath and she was awestruck at the sight. He looked so awfully naive while asleep that she had a hard time withdrawing her stare from his handsome face. She was trapped in his embrace. His hands were clutching her stomach and she was literally sitting on his lap. The happenings of last night hobbled down her memory lane and her expressions tightened up a bit. She was obviously hurt. But as she reminisced his innocent confession and apology, which felt truly genuine, she felt that she should give him a chance. For the first time in her lonely life, someone had tried to breach the air of darkness that surrounded her, someone had wholeheartedly stated that he would be by her side in every situation, someone had made her a promise of being friends, not being burdened up in the sense of pity for her condition, a promise she had always feared of, a fear that had always kept her secluded from the social interactions with the outer world. Somewhere deep down in her heart, she felt him to be truthful. Sanyukta could have never imagined the Randhir Singh Shekhawat, the name which used to make her scrunch her nose in disgust could be this apologetic and serious for some stupid diary of a stupid girl, or rather his precious nickname for her, bimbo, his arch nemesis, Sanyukta Aggarwal. But of course, it was her life's rule to expect the unexpected.
Her chain of thoughts was broken by his sneez. Her eyes were glued to him when he sneezed for the third time in a row, while still clutching her. He gently brought his hand up from her stomach and rubbed his nose when his eyes cought her staring at him without a blink and their orbs got locked up and then... he sneezed again, this time, awfully that immediately broke the tension arousing between them. Sanyukta at once tried to get up but his hands were still clutching her, not letting her get off. Sanyukta was stunned at his capability of holding things on even when he was getting wearied due to the constant sneezes. She couldn't find any other better option than swatting his arms away and getting up. Randhir scrunched his nose at her as she didn't pay any heed to his constant tries of holding her on. She at once dashed inside her room and closed the door behind with a thud. Okay? She won't stop being mad at him ever now, would she? Randhir sighed before getting up from the floor, sneezing again and then slopping down lazily on the couch. He was really very sleepy. The night before, he just couldn't blink his eyes close even though the hectic day work had exhausted him in every possible way that all he needed then was a perfect sound sleep for atleast two years. But all the night, he was just gawking at her serene face which glowed under the milky moonlight. Someone snoring against his ears while in bed irritated the heck out of him, though it was quite ironical that he was unaware of his horrendous snoring ability while sleeping. That was the major reason he used to avoid sleepovers at Dhruv's or in anyone of his friend's house even though they constantly kept on cribbing. The night before, her soft snores sounded to be the tingles of wind chime for him. He admitted that he could hear them every night of his life, with her of course, beside him which at that moment appeared to be an dreamy distant thought. His lips were curved up in a dreamy smile when he reminisced how she fitted perfectly in arms, like a vulnerable baby. But the thought next made him groan into the cushion on which his face was dug in at that moment. He was lying flat on his stomach when he sneezed for the umpteenth time. Will she ever forgive him?
Sanyukta turned down the knob of the shower and sighed. She couldn't remember when she fell asleep sitting between his legs. She was thinking and thinking and thinking over and over again about his confession and then bam! She woke up in his arms! How deadly was that for her to imagine but that actually happened! And to add to all the happenings, she couldn't feel her butt right then! Aha!
