I smiled at myself in the mirror. There I was, clad in a magenta off shoulder body hugging dress with complimentary pumps accompanied by enormous emotional turmoil within me. I was really glad of Mom's choice. She had managed to order this lovely dress for me even when she was bedridden. I instantly called my Mom up to thank her for the dress. The girl in the mirror wasn't me. I was way too shabby to pull off that dress. I couldn't have had remembered to pack in some fancy clothing and would probably have gone to the party in my boring casuals if she didn't pack some for me. I was so much engrossed into the preparations of the championship that I totally forgot that we were being indulged into this competition mostly to increase the social interactions between the different schools of our city.
I looked around to see that Vidushi was still making her own hair and Sanaya wasn't dressed yet and was still doing her makeup. Tanya and I were the only ones ready to go. I just couldn't perceive one thing. Being a girl myself, it took me the least of ten minutes to put on my dress and fix my hair. Same was the case with Tanya who was wearing a beautiful black dress, which reached beneath her knees and the shoulders of the dress were netted, giving her a decent yet lovely aura. Quite surprisingly, her big black rimmed spectacles were gone and replaced with contacts, probably. I looked back at myself in the mirror, checking on the little bit of makeup I had put on which included a slight brush of eyeliner and a swish of lip gloss. Seemingly, Vidushi's face contouring almost made me cringe. How the hell could they be so patient with this thing?
"You look beautiful Sanyukta. " I jolted my eyes towards Tanya and smiled.
"You look pretty yourself too.." I remarked, winking at her. Yeah I was, weirdly in a happy mood.
"Yeah.. Sany, you have managed to pull a great makeover even without our assistance.." Vidushi clicked her tongue and send in a flying kiss at me. She was looking marvellous in her blue sheath dress with her hair held up and smoky eyes. She stood in front of me giving me an overall, making me scowl at her. Okay maybe she needed to do that because I didn't trust my dressing sense at all.
"Look who's talking.. You look superb.. I bet you have covered your bruised knuckles well with makeup.." I chuckled bending down to pickup my cellphone. My eyes instantly caught the notification of three missed calls from Randhir. I instantly locked my phone and put it in Airplane Mode. Me and Randhir had a lot of talking to do, especially after what Rehan said about his expulsion and those talks required some serious face to face interaction.
"Oh come on. That bitch deserved it. Besides, I got to show my girl power." She smirked through the mirror while adjusting her dress. Meanwhile Sanaya came out of the bathroom, wearing a cute red dress which reached her mid thighs and gave the luscious view of her toned and shaved legs. Sanaya was a bit short in height and the dress just complemented her figure. Her hair was left open in cute curls but I noticed that she was frowning at me.
"You still didn't tell us where those bitches took you to.." She twisted her lips and walked to me while checking my dress out. I definitely felt like a mannequin, Sanaya and Vidushi were supposed to design fashion for. They really didn't want me to look bad and that made my heart warm. Oh and after I returned from that hall Rehan had captured me in, I noticed that the lock those prefects of St.Louis had put up in our dorm room door, and had caged up Sanaya and the girls, was gone. They we're relieved when I returned but they were also completely clueless of the door being open.
"I told you.. It was nothing. They were just bullying us. I ran away from their hold before they could take me anywhere and then I hid inside that old cupboard type of room where the school authority keeps the cleaning stuff, I guess. I eloped out when they got tired of searching for me.." I bit the insides of my cheek, mentally establishing that I had become a pro liar then. I just didn't want them to lose their concentration from the championship due the issues between me and Rehan. The confrontation with Rehan was dreadfully confusing for me and I just didn't want to involve them in it just few hours before our first round. Ah, well those were just my secondary reasons of not telling them what actually happened there. The first and foremost reason was that, I was hell scared of the consequences if by any chance, the incident came into Randhir's knowledge. And telling them would have increased the possibility of that. I didn't want Randhir to get the slightest idea of the incident because I knew his anger and hatred towards Rehan. Giving it away to my friends only meant that we had to wheel back home even before the championship started. Randhir would have had probably killed Rehan.
