The worst thing
About living in the dark
Is you are used to the cold
Your eyes have adjusted
Even though you cannot see around you
So when a light comes
It's so blinding that
You see less than you did before
And it's so hot
You feel like your skin is melting
It burns you to your core
It hurts so bad
That you frequently black out
You feel increasingly sick
And your so thirsty
But there is no water
A dehydration like you've never experienced before. The worst thing
About living in the dark
Is people cannot see you
And you cannot see them
You are completely alone
Wasting away
Through time and space
People surround you
But it's like your invisible
No, worse than that
They know you're there
That is what they choose
They choose to ignore you.The worst thing
About living in the dark
Is there is no path to follow
There is no way out
Not that you can see
How could you
You can't even see your own hands
Your own feet
You're not even sure
If they're there anymore
Are you walking?
Are you even moving?
Breathing?The worst thing
About living in the dark
You cannot feel
Not physically
Or emotionally
Everything is numb
No, it's worse than that
You feel what a statue feels
You are like stone
A beautiful dark piece
Sculpted by your own hands
People stare
Wonder of your mystery
But you're hollow inside
Filled with nothing.The worst thing
About living in the darkThe worst dark
That is where you live
Live?
No, we're all dead.
