Sarah’s POV:
“Cian! What are you doing home?” I asked my brother. Cian had been attending a boarding school in New York and I never got to see him unless it was summer or Christmas. He had grown up so much in the past year. He’s gone from a young 16 year old teenager to a tall strong healthy looking 17 year old well he wasn't quiet 17 yet his birthday is in March and it was January now so in 3 months he would be 17. It was strange my brother wasn't that much younger than me, there was only nine months between us. Both me and my brother had been born early, I was only three weeks early but Cian was a full month early. I was only 2 months old then my mom was pregnant with Cian, I wasn't even 1 year old and I had to share with my brother! It’s funny how I still call him my baby brother even though there’s not that much of an age gap between us I think that’s why we were always so close.
“Hey Sarah, Didn't mum tell you that I was coming home?” he told me. I noticed how he said mum instead of mom, Last year he spent a half a year in London studying over there for sum exchange and most of the boarders where English in the school in New York so he had picked up a little bit of a British accent.
“Come on in” I told him and then I grabbed one of his bags and brought inside. I dumped his bag in the hall and he did the same with the rest of them. We both then went into the kitchen. I quickly grabbed Liam’s phone off the counter before Cian saw it.
“So mom didn't tell me you were coming home? Is there any reason why?” I asked him. I was curious to find out why my brother who spent his whole time talking about New York and the school he was attending would suddenly drop out and move back home. I hoped it wasn't because mom thought I would be lonely while she was in Japan.
“Yeah, it was kind of a last minute think really” he told me but I wanted more info.
“Why did you drop out? I thought you loved your school and friends and New York!” I told him while I watched him pull out a chair from under the table and sit down.
“Mum thought I should spend more time with her and you before you go to college and plus mom wants me to go to a normal high school for the last two years, I don’t think mum like the idea of me not ever coming back home, like when I finish school staying in New York or going back to London she wants to spend more time with me before I move out and go off to do my own thing” I listened to what Cian had to say.
“Cian I’m already finished school and why would mom think you won’t come back home?” I asked him.
“You are? But you’re not even 18 yet! I had been looking up colleges when mum called and I told her I was thinking of going to a college in London or New York and I think that’s why she wanted me back home, a lot of good it was because she called me this morning to say she wasn't going to be home when I got here” he told me before he got up and got a glass of water.
“Me and Charlie started school young were both not 18 yet, well Charlie will be soon but yeah, well at least you can catch up with your old friends, what were their names again?” I asked him. He had gone off to New York when he was 14 and hadn't really been home a lot.
“Em… Oh yeah Jamie and Steven” he told me. “I’m going to go unpack Sarah” he told me before putting his now empty glass into the sink and walking out of the kitchen. He had just gone upstairs with his bags when I felt a phone buzz in my pocket. I took out Liam’s phone and saw he had a text message. I opened it and it read
