Chapter 6~ Not again...

I woke up and got in the shower. I put on a pair of grey sweatpants and a blue t-shirt. I went down stairs and saw my mom was on the phone in the sitting room. I went into the kitchen and got some cereal and as I started to eat it I then noticed the newspaper on the table, I picked it up and saw on the front page was a picture of Finn. It read…

Finn Jackson was a young man from the area who had been studding in a collage out of town. He was murdered on Friday night at a party. Finn’s parents are deeply saddened by Finn’s death and have asked people to respect their privacy. Police believe that Finn’s death was over a drug feud with a drug gang out of town as a small amount of drugs were found in his coat pocket and phone numbers of known drug dealers were found on his phone. Police have asked anyone who was in the area at about half 12 on Friday night who may have seen anything to come forward with their information to their local police station.

I put down the newspaper and saw my cereal had gone soggy. I got up and put my bowl in the sink. I didn’t realise what Finn had been into, but it made me more scared of Liam and Josh if they were from a drug gang that meant they were a lot worse than I had thought but that also meant that they might be form some were out of town and maybe they would have to leave and I could forget about this whole thing.

I had to clear my head. I ran upstairs to my room and grabbed my coat and put my runners on. I also got my phone and a scarf. I went down stairs and poked my head into the sitting room.

“Just going for a walk mom” I told her as she looked up from the computer screen I saw she was still on the phone. Wow it must have been really important because she just nodded and went back to talking. I left my house and began to walk, I wasn’t really sure where I was going to go so I just put in my ear phones and started to walk down the street.

I had walked out of the town and was walking past an apartment block when I happened to look up and saw someone move at the window. I was sure I had just seen him, Liam. I turned around and began to power walk my way back home. I didn’t realise how far from home I had walked. It took me about half an hour to get home. When I got back to my house I just kept walking and headed straight for Charlie’s house.

I knocked on the door and thankfully Charlie opened it.

“Charlie where have you been!” she looked really tired but I didn’t care I needed to talk to her. “Sorry, well I don’t really know I was pretty drunk! The police had to bring me home and my mom took my phone! Come on in!” She moved out of the way and I walked in. She shut the door behind me and we went up to her room to talk in private.

“So what did you get up to at the party, I lost you!” she asked me as she sat down on her bed.

“Well this guy I met at the party won’t leave me alone, and I found out yesterday that my mam is going on a business trip for about 2 months so I will be all on my own!” I told her as I sat down on her bean bag.

“Wait! WHAT! Why does all the fun stuff happen when I’m not around! Is he good looking? Do you know what this means! House party’s!” she said excitedly. “Charlie! I don’t want to talk about it! Oh, did you hear about Finn?” I asked her unsure about how she would react I didn’t expect her to say “who?” oh come on Charlie he only just died and you have forgotten about him!

“Remember, at the football game!” I told her trying to refresh her memory.

“Oh him, yeah he died didn’t he?” she asked me like it happened all the time! “Yeah” I told her really this girl never stops surprising me! “He wasn’t really right in the head; he wanted to go out with me! Like seriously Sarah could you imagine me with a boyfriend! So that’s when I made my quick get away!” “I think I might get some tea, do you want any Sarah?” she asked me as she got up and started to walk to her door.
