Carlee.
Ciara and I were out shopping before I went up to the office to fill out my paperwork. We were looking for dresses for my dad's black tie retirement party.
I really wish my mom was here to celebrate with us but I'm sure she's in a better place.
"LeeLee, this dress would be everything on you." Ciara held up a white silk dress.
"Is it low cut? You know daddy said we can't show our boobs."
"Dad will be just fine. I already found my dress and I'm not looking for another one."
I shook my head.
"This blue is everything! I'm going to try this one." I grabbed my size in the dress and rushed to the dressing rooms.
"So you excited about your new job?" Ciara asked.
"Yeah."
"Was Chris nice?"
"He was and he kept flirting." I came out the dressing room. "I hope he keeps things professional. Can you zip this for me?"
I turned around and she grabbed my zipper.
"Don't tell me you didn't think he was fine as hell and didn't want to sit on his face."
"I did but he's my boss. I can control myself."
"Bitch bye. You better snatch his ass up."
"Just because he's fine doesn't mean anything. I have to get to know him first." I went and stood in front of the mirrors. "What you think?"
"That dress is amazing!" Ciara said
I twirled around. I did look good.
"I think this is the one." I said.
"Perfect! Now we just have to look for shoes and accessories."
"We'll have to do that tomorrow, I have to go up to the office to do some paperwork."
"I thought you started Monday."
"I do, these are for me."
"Oh ok, well lets go pay for this."
I went and changed then took my dress up to the register.
"Ma'am did you check the price tag on this dress?" The snotty cashier asked me
"No, can you just ring it up please?"
"This is a 1400 dollar dress. We have some in the back that's on sale."
"What you think she can't afford it? Why cause she's black?" Ciara asked.
"That's not what I'm saying." The cashier insisted.
"It is and that's very fucked up! Just ring up my dress so I can go." I said while slamming my American Express card and Porsche keys on the counter. She just looked at my stuff then back at me surprised.
