Hello guys! I am sorry for the late post. Things are getting busier again, but rest assured that I will still keep on posting chapters, but not that frequent though.

And now, I present to you the 4th chapter of BC II! Enjoy reading!

Chapter 4 – Libera

The dawn was still preparing itself to break, yet Celeste was already wide awake. She watched carefully as the sun’s first rays peeped out from the distant mountains. She was deep in thought, blankly staring at the scenery before her. When she caught herself staring blankly, she slightly bowed down her head. There was sadness in her eyes, yet she knew she must hide it and focus at the heating battle between them and the Heirs. Celeste turned at her back, and looked at the man peacefully sleeping on the bed just in front of her.

Drake was still in deep slumber, with his chest slightly rising and falling, like an innocent child who’s not yet ready to leave his dreams. The thought of it caused Celeste smile.

She approached him, and kneeled down beside the bed. She couldn’t help but stare at his face which was gently radiating because of the breaking dawn. Celeste gently touched his blonde hair, and brushed it softly. She was enjoying this sight almost every day, yet it was the first time that she was able to touch him like this.

Then a thought came inside Celeste’s head, which made her hand stop brushing his hair. She kept her eyes from staring him, and slowly stood up, trying not to disturb his sleep.

You were the one who lifted me up when I let depression eat me during my family’s death. But now, knowing that you’re suffering because of your mother, I still don’t know how to make you happy.

She turned her back and faced the door. Celeste opened it, and looked at Drake for another time, and made her way outside.

While walking on the hallway, she noticed that everyone might be still asleep. She continued her way to the stairs, leading directly to the lobby. Celeste was not yet on the first floor when she saw Angelo sitting on a chair, holding a cup of coffee, yet staring as well into blank space.

“Seems that you’re in deep thought,” Celeste broke the silence while walking down the stairs and sat in front of him.

Angelo’s eyes were slightly astonished as he heard Celeste’s voice. “Wow, early bird.”

Celeste smiled. “You too, sir.” She stood up, and made her way up to the kitchen. This inn was also a house, but the owner let them use the kitchen for heating, and for sometimes, cooking. Celeste took a cup from the cupboard and made herself a cup of coffee. “What made you wake up this early?”

The leader faced her. “Our departure.”

Celeste almost lost grip of her cup. It was lucky for her that she was able to prevent the cup from falling down to the floor.

“Our... what? But are we ready? Do we have a place to stay other than here?” Celeste bombarded her with questions while approaching him to the lobby.

“We will find a solution for that, Celeste,” Angelo’s face showed no expression at all. Surveying him, Celeste noticed that he was hiding something from her.

With this, she tried to pull a string. “But why? We can still stay here. I think we’re not yet ready.”

This time, Angelo stood up. “We need to take our move. We need to advance to take advantage against the Heirs.”

There was silence, then Celeste spoke again. “When?”

“I don’t know. Maybe, today.”

Celeste almost fell from her seat. “Today!? But why so soon?”
