Hello everyone! Here's the 5th chapter of the Bloodline Chronicles II. Well, for this chapter, I wrote this before studying for an exam! I couldn't believe it, but that feeling of writing does not follow a strict schedule. In this, you can now see slowly the true history of the bloodlines, and the Heart mentioned in the prologue. Enjoy everyone! I know this chapter is a little bit confusing, but don't worry, the next chapter will explain EVERYTHING. (if you know what I mean. :D )

Chapter 5 – Key Holder

“He’s now doing fine as compared earlier.”

Zabrina’s voice was heard, and this greatly lifted up the burden Van was feeling since he saw Drake’s severe situation. The straight cut across his thigh was now almost closed, and Zabrina was now wrapping it with a bandage. She asked Jasmine to assist her in treating Drake’s injury. While Zabrina was dressing up his wound, Jasmine was again emitting a green mist which seemed to help in easing out the pain. Drake was now almost asleep, but he was still wincing.

All of them except for Cailin and Noah were there examining Drake’s condition. Earlier, Zabrina asked the two to go to the capital of Libera to buy some more bottles of potion since her stock was already depleted.

“I really hope they would not get lost. Libera’s a new place for us,” Samantha’s voice was soft yet quite dark. She was eyeing Zabrina, who was aware that Samantha’s quite suspicious to her.

“I gave them directions. Libera is the least place where you will find yourself lost. The streets are so easy to get familiar with,” Zabrina replied to Samantha’s concern. After doing so, she now set her eyes on Angelo. “Now after Drake’s recovery, what’s the plan?”

Angelo just shrugged his shoulders. “I honestly don’t know. Our original plan was to go to Hathor, yet we were just extremely surprised when the Hathor guards suddenly attacked us.”

Zabrina’s eyebrows shot up. “Really? Wait, what’s the point of assaulting you? You may possible had done an undesirable thing to the capital city.” Her voice was suddenly filled up with excitement, which made Samnatha observe her even more.

The leader paused for a while to evaluate whether this lady should be trusted or not. When he looked at Van and Celeste, they just nodded their heads for confirmation, while Samantha was the only one to disagree. This changed Zabrina’s mood to a dark one.

“You know what red-haired gal, I don’t care about your suspicions about me. If you don’t trust me, I honestly don’t care! But I cured your comrade, thanks to me,” she said, which made Samantha’s color change to bright red.

She looked away from her, and slightly shook her head. As she was supposed to approach the door and exit the house, Angelo called her out.

“Samantha! Where are you—“

“I just want to go outside to breathe in some fresh air,” she said softly yet mockingly. “This house makes me feel uncomfortable.”

Celeste and Jasmine tried to get her back, but Samantha continued to open the door and exited Zabrina’s house. When Samantha’s already outside, Zabrina couldn’t help but smirk and went to the kitchen.

“Lucky for me I just only have to make five cups of coffee, including me, and excluding your weak comrade.”

Van continued to listen to the cups being prepared for them. Nobody spoke, since they were all thinking about Drake’s situation. Zabrina may have been successful in tending his wounds, yet his recovery from the injury made him prone for any attacks in the future. With this, Van was extremely disturbed because, again, they had two enemies to face.
