Starting with a time skip. Crazy right? Also sorry about not updating on Thursday my computer was having internet problems.

The sun peeking through the slits of my blinds woke me up. I stretched my arms whacking Jackie right in the nose.

"Owww," she rubbed her nose.

"Sorry," I half whispered not wanting to awake Alec.

"Yeah, whatever," she rolled over and soon her breathing was even and she was asleep.

Stepping over the air mattress Alec was sleeping on I made my way to the bathroom that was attached to my room. I hopped in the shower washing off the last residues of sleep. I threw my pajamas back on and the hopeful smell of coffee lead me to the kitchen. Josh sat sipping his coffee nodding along to my mother's story.

"And you wouldn't believe the messes she made. Oh, I never stopped cleaning," she exasperated.

"Me? If I recall correctly Tyler made all the messes," I poured my coffee in my Y/F/C mug.

"Oh sure he did. Tyler was a perfect angel," my mother waved a spatula in the air.

"Remember that time when dad said Tyler said he was the son he always wanted and I got jealous and chopped my hair off to look like a boy?"

"Wait," Josh turned to me, "That actually happened?"

"Oh yes it did. I wasn't very happy," mom swatted my with her towel.

"Dad found it hilarious," I retorted.

"Dad found everything you did hilarious," she said quietly.

I looked at Josh who looked confused, "My dad died before freshman year. That's why we moved to Seattle."

He reached out a touched my arm, "I'm so sorry."

"Thanks," I whispered feeling my throat choke up.

I was trying so hard to shove the tears down. I thought of my dad sitting across from Josh interviewing him like he did with all my friends, especially the guys. He would always joke around with everyone. I smiled at the lame knock-knock joke he always told.

I smiled at Josh, "Knock, knock."

"Who's there?" he started to smile.

My mom started laughing, "Europe."

"Europe who?"

"No, you're a poo," I grinned.

Josh laughed and it was adorable, "That was the best knock-knock joke ever."

"You won't believe how many times he got me with that one," Tyler exclaimed entering the room.

My mom set down a cup of coffee in front of him, "So, what's on the agenda today?"

"Well our next show isn't for like two days so we can do anything really," I say.

"Oh no you don't. This weekend is 'Neighborhood Cook Out' and you're not missing it. Especially since we have guests," my mom swatted away my statement.

"Oh is that this weekend?" Alec says walking down the stairs with Jackie in tow.

"Yes, it is. You're lucky next year is our year for set up."

I turned to Tyler, "Do we have rehearsal today?"

"Ya noon to four."

I nodded and pushed myself up of the stool, "Ok people I'm going to shower."

After my shower Alec, Jackie, and I showed Tyler and Josh around. Our high school, our local hang out, and of course the park. When we were in high school we liked the swings. I guess the teenagers kind of claimed the park when we were in school. Things haven't changed either. Two groups of about three to five teens hung out on the equipment.

"Seattle is so pretty," Josh stared at the town.

"Yeah it is," I looked up and Jackie and Alec were walking with Tyler. They were walking close enough that their shoulders were bumping against each other.

"So what is this thing your mom was talking about?"

"Oh it's basically an over glorified block party. Games and a cookout. It's not that big of a deal but my mom enjoys planning it so I guess it's cool," I shrugged.

"Sounds nice. Your mom is pretty cool."

"Yeah, she's awesome."

He nodded, "Can I ask you something?"

My heart fluttered, "Yeah, of course."

"Are they dating?"

"Why are you interested in Jackie?" I asked teasingly bumping his shoulder. Inside though I was praying he would say no.

Heat crept up his face, "No, I just- they're walking really close. I was just wondering."

I laughed at him stuttering. It was too cute.

"No, not officially. They're both to wimpy to say anything to each other."

"Well it can be intimidating," he looked me square in the eye. My stomach did several flips. It probably wasn't good for my health but I was loving it.

I smiled and kept walking. I took a half step closer to him. I could feel his body heat radiating towards me. Soon enough we were at the arena and practicing.

Time skip

I was in Josh's room helping him and Tyler chose something to wear. I swear they were worse than girls. Once I got Tyler ready I sent him downstairs to help my mom.

"What's the attire for this thing?" Josh asked ripping clothing out of his suitcase.

"Casual but dressy,"I waved a hand down at my white lacy sun dress.

He nodded, "Well, fashion designer get over here and pick me out an outfit."

"Challenge accepted," I walked over to his suitcase, and picked a button down and black jeans.

"There," I thrust-ed the close at him.

"Thanks," he took of his shirt off. I stood there wide eyed.

"Enjoy the view?"

I gulped and spun around fully aware of the heat in my cheeks.

"Ok done."

"Let's go then."
