This song kind of goes with the chapter and it's a super good song.

Since this was a block party we only had to walk a few houses down. We traveled in a group chatting and laughing already. As always it was beautiful. Very elegant this year. Long tables draped with white table clothes, white yarn lanterns were draping across the yard, and white lights were wrapped around every tree in the yard.

"Very nice this year," Jackie exclaimed looking at the yard in awe.

I looked over and saw Alec move two steps closer to her and winked at me. I laughed.

"Oh hi girls!" Mrs. Johnston greeted us, "And Ms. Y/L/N. You must be Tyler and Josh."

"Yes, ma'am. I'm Tyler and that's Josh," he nodded at Josh.

"Hello," Josh waved around the container of food he was carrying.

"Oh let me take that for you," Mr. Johnston took the container from Josh.

"Thank you," he replied.

"By the way Noah flew in this morning," Mr. Johnston said over his shoulder.

I stopped breathing.

He shouldn't be here. You should've known he'd be here, after all this is his parents house. Just avoid him. Jackie and Alec will help. Breathe.

Jackie wrapped her arm around my shoulder, "It'll be ok."

I nodded.

"Who's Noah?" Tyler and Josh asked in unison.

"Her ex."

They nodded then Tyler and Josh wrapped their arms around me and reassured me it would be ok.

I took a deep breath.

Ok. Maybe this won't be that bad. Tyler's here. He's always been here for you right? And you've got a new friend. Josh. He'll support you too. Jackie and Alec have never left your side and they won't now.

"Thanks guys. Let's get this party started!"

All throughout the night there was laughing and eating. Catching up with old friends. Meeting new ones. People were congratulation Jackie, Alec, and I along with Tyler and Josh. That's when Noah finally approached me.

"Hey Y/N. It's been awhile," he smiled.

"Yes it has been," I kept my head up with a fake confidence.

"Yes we should get together and catch up sometime. Over coffee maybe."

"Yeah, sure," my voice highly laced with sarcasm.

"Come on you're not still mad are you?"

"Mad? You ruined any chance I had at getting into Julliard! Over what? A dumb study session. Pathetic," my voice cracked at pathetic.

I walked away. There was a gap in the trees lining the back yard. Behind the trees were more trees. Enough to get lost. And at that moment all I wanted was to be lost. I found a clearing in the trees and sat down running my hands through the soft grass.

I heard a few twigs snap and my head spun towards the source. Josh appeared in front of me.

"Uh- sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."

"Oh it's fine," I smiled up at him.

"You kind of rushed out of there. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. It's just shock. I guess. After not seeing him for about ten years. He asked me for coffee," I scoffed.

"Yeah. That was dumb. I don't know the whole story. You don't have to tell me anything but I'm here."

I nodded, "This kid needed help with math so I offered to help. We met once a week for two months. Noah got jealous. Rumor got out that we were secretly dating. But of course it was a rumor. I would never cheat. Ever. So I denied the fact I was cheating on him. He was furious. So he broke up with me and I thought, 'Ok, that's it then. We're broken up. End of story.' Nope. He went to Julliard who was so close to giving me a scholarship and told lies. Bad, bad lies. They rejected me. But I ended up where I wanted so all good right? I'm just mad he can act like he didn't ruin my dream ya know? Oh well. I have good friends, a good band, and a good career. Thanks for being here."

"Anytime. I think I heard someone say something about dancing?"

He offered his hand out and I smiled at the sound of the music starting up. He tugged me out of the trees and back to the yard.

We danced and spun. I danced with kids. With Jackie and Alec. With Tyler. After endless songs a slow one played. Tyler joined hands with my mom. Alec quickly led Jackie to the dance floor leaving no time for protest. I took Josh's when I saw Noah walking towards me.

His entire face went red, "Dance with me."

He gulped then nodded. He placed both hands on my hips and sparks of electricity exploded beneath his hands. The electricity zapped the butterflies in my stomach making them intensify by a thousand percent. I looked at his mocha brown eyes and we both looked away then chuckled nervously.

The lights hung above us like stars dancing along with the real ones.

"Have I told you how pretty you are?"

My stomach flipped and turned.

"Cause you are."

More knots.

"And I don't know how it happened, but I think I love you."

I stared unsure of what to say. So I didn't say anything. I kissed him.
