His Demon

Mark POV:

I slowly lift Jack back off the ground. He must stop doing this to himself. Blacking out is not good for your health, and there's always that possibility that you won't wake up.

Why did he run? He is one confusing guy.

First he comes over and and shows me the light to get out of my sorrow. Later he runs. Fear running through his veins.

Why did he run straight into the pole? He would have seen it coming. I mean, he isn't blind. Why couldn't I see his emotions? Well, I could see them but it seemed like there were two different people clashing against each other. Fighting for who gets to meet my eyes.

There's something he's keeping from me. But what? I jog my way back into the house. Bring him back to the plain blue bedroom. I'm about to leave when I notice his phone. For the amounts of messages he's getting I wouldn't be surprised if it blew up. Curiosity taking over I check from who. Hmm. Vanoss? Who the heck is Vanoss? As i scroll further down, I see messages from an unnamed number.

'Sean. We need to talk. It's about mom. Please respond to me.'

This is probably one of his siblings. I never even thought he would still have a family. None of them are here. For him. Why? Why aren't they here for him? Don't they know that he needs them? Did they reject him? Did they just leave him to survive on his own? I accidently drop the phone when it vibrates again. Another message from this Vanoss person.

'Sean. Please answer my texts. I'm getting worried.'

'Sean?'

'You didn't cut again did you?'

How does this guy know about Jack cutting himself. I would have checked to see their relationships by going through the phone, but it has a passcode. Ugh. All of a sudden a green light envelops the room. What is going? I hesitantly turn around to see Jack. Well at least I think this is Jack. He is standing with his back turned to me. I couldn't read any sort of emotion coming from him.

It's like he's, emotionless. Literally.

In the blink of an eye he had me pinned against the wall. This is not Jack. Black goo slowly drips out of his left eye. Dripping down. Letting it drop down and soak thru my pants. His right eye has an unnatural green iris. His pupils aren't black, but instead an icey blue. The sclera is a dull black devoid of all colour and not white like the colour of the moon.

He gives me a devil's smile showing many rows of sharp teeth. I try to wriggle out of his grip but he seems stronger than I thought. I feel something wrapping itself around my leg. I quickly look down to see a demon like monster with two green eyes staring up at me. Green saliva dripping down it's hideous face slowly.

"So, you are the poor angel assigned to treat such a worthless being? Must suck to be you."

His voice sounded so identical to Jack's but it is deeper and has a demonic tune to it. This is a demon. What is a demon doing here? What is a demon doing, taking over Jack's body?

"You don't talk much do you? Well I suggest you say something quick because I don't think you want your last words to just be silence. NOW SPEAK."

Wow. What a short temper. Let's see how far I can push him. Demons hate it when you feel stronger than them. All I have to do is put my chin up chest out. Lastly don't even make eye contact, because they aren't worth it. I see him tense and anger burning bright in his eyes.

"YOU THINK YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME? WELL... WELL... I'M GONNA PROVE YOU WRONG."

"You? Really?"

I hear him snort. He mumbles something, just loud enough for me to hear a few words.

"Dark..... Connection.......ass."

Dark? My ears must have deceived me. If you are wondering. Dark. My opposite. I killed him a few months ago, but many say you can't kill a demon opposite. If you do, you will automatically kill yourself in the process. I didn't believe it. So I did the impossible. I killed my opposite. Or did I?

"You a fan of Dark?"

The minute his name escapes my lips a light green blush forms on his sickening pale skin. Great. Another one of his followers. Always having little crushes. It's stupid.

"Well yes actually he is my-"

He couldn't finish as he lets out a scream of pain. He immediately lets go of me and falls to the floor. Gripping his head in pain. All his demonic features start to fade. Bringing back the features of the real Jack.
