Mark POV:
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
Why doesn't he remember me? Did he already forget about me? No. It's only been a year, he should be able to remember me.
"Tim, it's me, Mark."
He gave me a confused look.
"What did you say your name was? I couldn't quite understand, can you repeat?"
"It's me, Mark."
He started shaking his head. Can he not hear me? I was about to repeat my sentence when a cold hand touched my shoulder.
"He can't hear you. Don't you remember, you're dead."
I almost forgot, if someone from your past makes any sort of connection with you. You will slowly fade away. Just become a blur in their vision. Your voice will slowly turn into an unheard whisper, Tim won't even know that I'm here. I might hug him, talk to him but he won't feel it or hear it.
"Let's go home. There is no point in being here anymore."
After does words, the warmth returns to his hand. The demon like features disappear. Anti is so much more different than Dark. Dark would have seen this as an opportunity to run, but not to Anti. He saw this as a moment where someone is in need of comfort. Weird demon.
"Come on Mark. Let's go."
I gave one last glance to Tim, and then we're off. Me dragging my feet behind Jack. What am I doing? I'm supposed to be here for Jack but something keeps popping up that brings me down. He always seems to be the person that's brightening my day.
"Mark, are you feeling okay?"
"Don't ask me that."
"What do you mean? Don't ask me that. Did I do something?"
"Just, nevermind."
With that, we were silent, from the corner of my eye I could see that girl with that eye patch following us. Who is she?
"Who are you?"
I saw her point to herself. I gave her a small nod to indicate that I was talking to her.
"I-I'm Sa-am."
"No need to be scared. It's not like I'm gonna kill you."
Jack let out a low unamused chuckle. Her cheeks turning a faint pink. Sam. I think Jack knows her as he seems a little more comfortable in her presence, but there is also conflict.
"Sam, why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be with mom in L.A. Living the dream life."
So Sam is Jack's sister. He seems mad, did she do something?
"Well Sean, if you have been reading my emails and letters mom is very ill. She doesn't have long. I came here to see if you wanted to come visit, before she... passes."
Jack quickly stops in his tracks, his aura turns black. The one color I never wanted see envelop him. What do I do?
"Mom is ill?"
His voice is trembling. Do something Mark, think. As ideas of different ways to comfort Jack fly through my mind. I feel a sudden warmth wrap around me. I look down and notice that Jack has hugged me. Crying violently into my chest. I hate to see him cry. I never want to see him cry again. I quickly wrap my arms around Jack's shaking body, whispering soothing words into his ear. I look up to see Sam with a shocked expression, why would she be shocked? Wouldn't everyone react like this if they found out their mother, the woman that probably cared for you your whole life, is dying? Or is she shocked that he ran to me instead of her?
"Jack?"
He doesn't respond to her, instead, I feel him dig his face further into my chest. I just wrap my arms tighter around his fragile body. Is this how Tim felt when he saw me die? I think I personally would have lost my sanity if I saw my brother die in front of me. I feel a slight tug at my shirt, catching my attention. I quickly look down to see Jack staring right back at me, with tear-filled eyes. I slowly come closer to him and he whispers.
"Plea-ase t-take me-e hom-me. D-don't le-et her-r fo-low."
I give a small nod and let my wings rip through my white shirt. I see Sam jump back, probably surprised. I will have to make her forget she saw this. Change it to make it look like I'm running with Jack in my arms. I hesitantly pick Jack up.
"Don't worry. We will be there soon."
After my words, we take off into the sky. I give Sam one last glance but that is when I notice she isn't alone. That familiar black hair, that outfit. Rachel. She looks at Sam and I see her faint. After Rachel quickly looks up at me and I can see a deep frown on her face. Probably mad that I let a human see me like this. I give her an awkward smile and fly off with Jack in my arms. Sleeping peacefully.
Hey Cupcakes,
Sorry that it took so long, I have been working on another story. It's called Hybrid Experiment. If you're reading this around the same time that I upload this chapter you probably won't see it. I'm still working on it. So yeah.
