The partying had died down somewhat, and Harley didn't see her puddin' anywhere, so she thought she ask a few people. They'd went to the roof, Orin said. It's almost as if he saw everything thing. They. Mista' J and (Name). Alone.Harley banished those thoughts and skipped to (Name)'s room. Her door is open as is her window. The close she got to the window, the more she could hear of their conversation. She sat at the window just listening to the conversation, until she heard (Name) ask, "Why am I important to you?" Harley was curious, no, she had to know. She quickly slipped through the window to sit on its sill.
After nearly an eternity of silence, Mista' J finally asked, "Can I try something?". He asked. He didn't just do it he asked. 'She doesn't feel the same. She'll so no,' Harley thought. That thought was the fragile support of her hope. And when (Name) had said 'sure', she tried to convince herself that she was too drunk to think clearly, or she was curious, or anything as long as it didn't end with (Name) having real feeling for Mista' J. Then they kissed and Harley took a shaky breathe, trying her best not cry. How could he do this? How could (Name) do this?
She slipped back in the window, and jogged down the hall. She tried not to think about what she was doing, she really didn't want to. She knew it only a small kiss, but Mista' J was never that gentle with anything really, not even Harley. And (Name) had been ignoring him as best she could and suddenly accept whatever he'd do without rejecting it in the least. It couldn't be more obvious, they must've had a past that left lingering feelings. Maybe she was jumping to conclusions, maybe she's absolutely correct. All she knew for sure was that there was something between them, a small spark, but no matter how small, it was so much stronger than her relationship with "her" puddin'.
With all of these thoughts attacking her at once, she failed to notice where exactly it was that she was going, causing her to run right into them. Looking at them, she saw the one and only, Floyd. He seemed to be attempting to ask if she was fine or what had happened, something to that affect likely, but she wasn't listening she could only play that kiss over and over in her head with those thoughts overlapping it, blocking out all sound.
"Harley!" He nearly shouted. She finally broke out of those thoughts and focus on Floyd. He attempted to ask again, but she had an idea, then tugged on his arm and jogged back down the hall to her own room. She opened the door and was about to walk in, before she realised he hadn't followed. Instead he looked at her with curiosity. She just smiled and motioned for him to follow with a wave of her hand, before disappearing into her room.
Floyd had no idea what was happening or why, but he intended to find out what was wrong (other than the obvious) with the usually cheery girl. When he poked his head into her room he didn't see what he expected, he wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this. Harley had taken he shirt off, and once she saw him she pulled him into the room. She attempted to kiss him, but he stopped her, to her disappointment. Handing her shirt to her, he began questioning her.
At first she wasn't very responsive and kept messing with him, claiming it was the voices, or the voices had told her to do it. Yet, after a few trips to the kitchen for alcohol, and a few threats from both sides, Harley explained why she was upset. He tried to understand why one small kiss would upset her, but this was the man she was crazy for, Mista' J and the woman J was sane for. It was almost as if she took him back to a time when he was ok. Not the insane man she'd treated and later fell for, but a calmer, sane man, one Harley had dreamed of.
"If he's in love with some one else, can't you fall in love with someone else?" He asked another question, all in an attempt to get a better understanding of the situation. He wasn't quite understanding her logic on this.
"That's what I was trying to do with you." She said like he dumb for not seeing that.
"I'm very sure we're talking about different kinds of love." Harley didn't quite understand, but the conversation and booze consumption continued for a long while more.
"Harley!" (Name) had been calling for her for a few minutes. She had to apologise, it was horrible of her. She kept calling for her blonde friend until her room's door opened slightly. Nobody spoke, at least not to her. She walked towards the door and peered in to see Harley, Floyd, and several alcohol bottles around the room.
"What do you want? Can't you see, we're having a heart to heart, right now," she explained motioning to herself and Floyd, who just shrugged it off.
"I just want to apolog-"
"No need," she laughed to herself, likely from the alcohol.
"How did apologising go for you?" He asked.
"Not well, she's drunk off her ass and won't listen to me." (Name) sighed. There was silence between them for a short while.
"We really do need to talk about things, about us. The past." He started.
"I know, I know. Where do we start, this time?"
"Lets start with a name. Jack. Why'd you call me that earlier?"
