unexpected visitors

  We were both startled, especially Elijah. I moved my hand from his head as he told the visitor to come in. I was confused who would visit me?
  "Hey Lia I brought some strawberries," a cheerful voice said as he entered, I know that voice, Stanley!
  "I'm here to, and I brought a stuffed animal for you." Jones was here too. I did not expect them to come especially Stanley, I haven't seen him since fifth grade, sometimes I text him but I haven't spoken to him in person. I got lost in my thoughts when they approached me.
     "Hellooo, Lia, you didn't forget me did you? Why won't you open your eyes?" At that last remark I wanted to cry. I know Stanley was playing around but I couldn't open my eyes even is i wanted to.
    "She can't open her eyes Stanley, they were burned shut. So try to be a little more considerate." Elijah sounded mad, did he notice I was about to cry.
   "It's ok Elijah, thanks for coming Jones and Stanley," I smiled "now let me get those strawberries and that stuffed animal, how did you know I like strawberries Stanley?"
    "Told me in fifth grade, remember?"
I forgot that I told him that. I felt my face warm up at the thought that he remembered what I liked.
