back at school

I woke up to my alarm going of so I shut it off. As much as I don't want to admit it I need help, I can't see my uniform. Dam, I might have to ask my stepmother for help. Just then I herd the doorbell ring. Who the hell is here at 6:00 in the morning? I grab my crutches and make my way to my front door.
" Hey Lia, it me Elijah I figured you might need some help so here I am. " Aww, that's so nice of him. " And before you say anything yes I am dressed and ready for school, and yes I will have to help you get dressed."
" Like hell you will I don't want you seeing me in my bra and panties!" I yelled at him as low as I possibly could. Then he touched my face? It stung a little so I slightly flinched. Oh shoot the slap I forgot about that.
"Lia, what happened to your face?" Did my father leave a mark?
"Nothing, I..I just.....ran in to something" I said smiling a little.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes I am fine, now can we hury up I don't want to be late" I replied as sweetly as possible.
"OK, fine let's go."
After an hour I was dressed and ready to go. I admit, I was scared of going back to school, Iowa's out for almost a month.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you something," Elijah said. I nodded for him to go on. "I switched my classes so I'm in all the same classes as you."
"That's nice, thank you." I replied. I was shocked that he went through all that trouble for me, but I didn't say anything, I just smiled as we kept walking.
The rest of was silent, but not an awkward silence, a nice comfortable one. Suddenly Elijah broke the silence,
"We are here Lia," he said cheerfully. I giggled as we walked in. I was greeted with cheers and shouts of thank you, mostly from girls. I was confused, why is it a big deal?
"Lia," I heard the voice of my principal, Mrs. Dorrie, "I am so happy that you are back and feeling better. And on behalf of all the girls, thank you. If you wouldn't have stayed strong that man could've hurt any of the other girls. So thank you Lia."
I wanted to cry after that but because of my eyes I couldn't. I just smiled up at her, everyone was crying. It's good to be back.
