I reached for the strawberries and Stanley put them in my hands, next I reached for the stuffed animal I have known Elijah a year longer than Jones and Stanley but they all knew me equally as well. I couldn't help but smile despite the pain I was in.
"Stanley, Elijah can you guys go outside for five minutes?" They tried to protest against this but in the end they wound up going outside leaving me here with Jones. When they left I asked him what was wrong. To my surprise he started crying I was caught of guard by this and what he said.
"I'm sorry Lia, I couldn't help I was scared." I reached towards were his voice was coming from but he grabbed my hand, I couldn't tell what he was going to do or say next. He slipped something on my wrist. "Keep this with you and when you are able to see come to me, ok?"
I nodded my head slightly, I was so stunned I couldn't speak. From the hallway we heard Elijah and Stanley complaining to come in. Jones put down my hand and told them that they could come in. I couldn't see the bracelet or the look on their faces.
Stanley came up to me and patted me on the head then whispered softly into my ear "Do what you think is right for you." He said the same thing in fifth grade when I asked him if I should go to the Gifted and Talented or not. These three boys were all special to me and were all acting strange today.
