Because I Really Care

I look at your arm,

and all I see is Red.

And now I know,

all you want is to be dead.

I look at your smile,

you seemed so happy.

I see through it,

and now I know your life is crappy.

I look into your eyes;

the spark isn’t there anymore.

Your eyes are shallow,

down to their core.

I look at your stomach,

there’s nothing there.

You haven’t eaten in days,

I know it isn’t fair.

“Why can’t I be tall, skinny and pretty?”

I hear you say.

But I’ll still love you

with all my heart, anyway.

Everyone thinks you’re perfectly fine,

they can’t see through the lie.

I see you alone every night;

your lullaby is the way you cry.

I can’t stand seeing you like this,

not after all we’ve been through.

Seeing you lifeless

is a picture I don’t want to come true.

Remember when you were young?

When everything seemed like fun?

You would go outside,

and kiss the sun.

But now you sit alone,

locked in your room.

A wilted flower;

you’ve lost your chance to bloom.

But it’s never too late.

Oh no, no way.

Through thick and thin,

I’ll always stay.

No matter how alone you feel,

no matter how sad.

I want you to know,

You’re the best thing I ever had.

Your smile can light up my day,

and guide me through the darkest night.

Your sparkling eyes

rid me of my fright.

So what if you aren’t a size zero?

So what if you aren’t a stick?

Out of all the people…

You know whom I’d pick.

Stay strong,

you’re beautiful in every way.

No matter what the other people

do or say. <3
